Very beautiful... there are many interesting places...N-Athos Monastery, waterfall, caves, mount of the Iveron Icon of the Mother of God... if you visit, you will not regret it...
The grandeur of the temple is amazing! Huge, with high ceilings of different levels, a very beautiful old temple. The marks of antiquity do not spoil it, on the contrary. Definitely worth a visit.
A beautiful monastery. On the territory of the monastery there is a church of St. Hypatia, you can go in and light a candle. He is on the mountain, we will go up to him along the path of sinners. The trail is lined with stones, some of them slippery because they are polished by the feet of tourists who have been climbing it for many years. The monastery offers a beautiful view of the sea and the city

Of course, there are many pilgrims and you can expect solitude with God only to those who really often go to the temple not to see the sights, but with an understanding of the purpose of this place. A quiet bench on the edge will then find itself under the large arches.
The atmosphere of Abkhazia and New Athos is fire! The sights are within walking distance. The monastery is not restored, but maybe that's the whole point! It's worth a visit. There are wonderful large-scale views around!
A nice and interesting place. Beautiful murals on the walls and on the ceiling. Nice people at the entrance calmly explain how to behave inside. Admission is free. I definitely advise you to visit here and walk not only in the temple but also around.
The appearance of the monastery itself and the road to it disappointed, the hiking trail stretches along the stalls with all sorts of stuff, which gets boring at the end of the way, if you drive by car, you have to literally feel the road so that God forbid you don't catch a terrible pit or a slice of asphalt, however, such a road does not create any problems for locals, which, again, will create for you, it becomes a little awkward when a minibus is rushing at you
I highly recommend it. The place is steeped in history, very beautiful. And the view that opens from the monastery is simply fascinating. It is very convenient to have cashless.
It is monogamous, you can only go to the temple, there is no fence everywhere on the territory. In the temple, again, reconstruction took place in April, as well as throughout Abkhazia, and instead of prayer, only the sounds of construction can be heard. The store at the temple of autumn is good. Small candles cost 20 rubles, a lot of icons and other goods
The most important cultural and spiritual value of Abkhazia.
In the old days, it was the center of the spiritual life of the entire Caucasus.
Back in the early 80s, my girlfriend talked with admiration about visiting the temple, admiring its greatness and beauty.
The temple is located near Mount Athos and is a male Orthodox monastery. ✔️With the support of Emperor Alexander III himself, it began to be built in 1875.
The entire construction period was very difficult. This was due to the geographical location and the complete absence of access roads. The Russian-Turkish war also prevented the construction, as a result of which the building was destroyed and looted. The monastery was built in 1900. Thousands of pilgrims from all over the world come to the monastery every year.
The entire structure is represented by 6 temples, the main one being the 40-meter Panteleimon Cathedral.
🙏🏻I was lucky enough to get in before closing - the stars came together so much that only we were allowed into the temple and we were the last visitors, which I am very grateful for. After all
, I originally planned to go to the temple, and I dressed appropriately.
Now, of course, everything requires a desire for recovery: financial and human.
Up close, the temple looks withering.
Have you ever been to the New Athos Monastery and what are your impressions?
It's not enough to tell, you just need to visit here! It's nature, landscapes, the sea, it's just the story of Christianity! Monastery, fortress, caves, beautiful city, noisy, lively, beaches, sun, unforgettable!!!!!
In vain we went there in front of the caves, the Godfather called, it is not used for its intended purpose, repairs are underway (they have been saying for 2 years) but there is not a single builder, not a single priest, a prayer recording is playing on a tape recorder
I've been there many times. A special place. Not even the monastery itself, but the area around it. Nature, cypresses.... Great sea view. There are many attractions nearby
It's a beautiful place. Stunning views of the sea and the surrounding area. But the ascent to the monastery is very high. I definitely recommend you to visit. Stunning pictures, especially in the evening

We were in Abkhazia for 1 day, we chose this monastery as one of the stopping points. A very beautiful place with an amazing view! It's worth stopping by to see!
There are a lot of people, repairs are underway, authentic, authentic tiles are being replaced with modern material....
There is no monastic life, only crowds of tourists and guides... Beautiful views of the sea
The majestic temple is a monastery of the Orthodox faith.Designed for 800 people, there are many buildings of the 18th and 19th centuries.
Inside the temple, ancient paintings of walls and ceilings have been preserved. The only thing is that it all requires major restoration.
I didn't understand the joke at the New Athos monastery. The only one available to visit is the Panteleimon Cathedral. It's certainly interesting, but it's worth going there when you're tired of the sea and the mountains and rafting and the Kyndyg waters. A boring, incomprehensible place. Plus, at least they don't charge money for admission. It turns out that he did not notice that he had passed the path of sinners, it turns out, too, an incomprehensible name. At almost 50 years old and 105 kg, I can easily run back and forth several times.
You can't betray your feelings! A must-visit!
At the entrance there is a staircase down, there is a bench with candles and other things.
Headscarves are issued on the head.
A beautiful place, but a very small area to visit, it was February 16, only the main temple is available. From below, after entering the territory, you can buy candles and write notes, as well as buy everything as in all churches.
I haven't been to the monastery itself. It was more interesting for me to walk around the neighborhood. Picturesque places. Whoever will be there, be sure to find an artist who paints paintings, a wonderful person, this meeting will definitely be useful.
I highly recommend you to visit. Visiting the monastery left only positive emotions. On the territory you can walk and relax with a beautiful view of the sea.
The place in New Athos is very strong energetically and I recommend you to visit. An interesting hydroelectric power plant (man-made), which was introduced by the monks.
Amazing namoleenoe place! Inside it seems that you are not for long, but closer to something infinitely important!
P.S.
There are a whole lot of outlets near the temple:) it's better not to even approach, you won't notice yourself how you will get a lot of everything, from eucalyptus to bizet with nuts:))))
It is beautiful and monumental from the outside, but inside many buildings are abandoned and require restoration and repair. In the market, at the monastery, you can run into low-quality products (churchkhela), chacha, in,,factory,, container, also turned out to be a palenka.
Of course, the monastery is under reconstruction and it is impossible to see the whole of it. But the temple of Panteleimon the Healer is impressive, and the views of New Athos and the sea are pleasing to the eye.
One of the few places in Abkhazia where there are practically no ruins, gaping eye sockets of broken windows, abandoned buildings and other attributes of the times of 30 years ago. Calm, very beautiful, interesting. On a very small territory, within walking distance from each other, you can visit a monastery, caves, Stalin's cottage, a hydroelectric power station with a beautiful dam, monastic cells in the mountains, the road to which lies along the picturesque riverbed.
