I gave 3 stars because the physical condition of the monastery is in a pretty deplorable state. I have seen many monasteries and temples in Russia and there is something to compare it with. And it surprises me. Why is that? Such a place, so many parishioners, so many tourists. Well, of course, I recommend it to visit. Such holy places are always inspiring and inspiring. Renovation work is underway on the territory. And I hope that the New Athos Monastery will flourish soon!!!

New Athos personally conquered me with its tranquility and serenity! We were here in the evening, and still there was a dense heat, no breeze. While we climbed up the hill to the Cathedral, we were terribly tired, we wanted to go not so high. And here is such a view of the mountains and the sea, everything is in a sultry haze and so calm. My husband and I sat on a bench in the park, and it seemed that we would spend the night here. I didn't want to leave. A wonderful place!!!

This is a unique place, full of wonderful energy, salted! The monastery is red. I really enjoyed being there, as I was vacationing in new Athos at the Sky Terra Hotel, and this is right behind the monastery wall. You wake up in the morning, and you can see its domes through the window and hear the bells ringing!

Another controversial sight from Abkhazia! On the one hand, the beauty of nature and the beautiful ensemble of the monastery against their background; the magnificent interior decoration, breathing the antiquity of frescoes in the semi-darkness of alcoves overshadowed by candle flames! On the other hand, there are no excursions, a half-closed temple complex, a bunch of souvenir shops on the outskirts of the church. But there is a free public toilet))

Absolutely everything looks historically impressive. Inside, everything is exactly like in historical films. It's definitely worth a look. Very steep and narrow ascent/ descent (it's creepy by car). There is a place to leave the car, there are no difficulties with this. In general, I recommend visiting 👌🏼

A nice, warm place. Candles and church supplies are not sold on the territory of the temple itself. Personally, it seems to me that this is the main indicator of a real temple. The most beautiful views. A lot of the territory is fenced. You can write a lot about a place, but it's better to visit and leave your personal impression about the place. It is individual.

They are, of course, schismatics and heretics. The temple is impressive from the inside. The frescoes are good. Dark, sooty, old. It takes a long time to walk and look at it. There is almost no territory. To climb the hill on foot. The ascent is gentle , but it's better when it's not hot. It is better to go down to the left, right to the waterfall. It's not a very good path, but you get to another object, no less interesting.

The New Athos Monastery in Abkhazia is a blessed and spiritual place!
It's so peaceful when you're here!
And the nature and landscapes are just incredible!
The decoration and paintings of the main temple of the monastery in honor of the healer Panteleimon with 5 chapels will remain in my heart for a long time!
And also inside the Panteleimon temple and on the territory of the monastery - you can safely take pictures.
But of course, the most important thing is to pray for your family and friends!

The excellent location of the temple (the view is gorgeous on the sea), inside it is even more beautiful, you can write notes about health and repose, buy icons, candles and go to the temple (shawls and skirts are given at the entrance). The road to the temple, if you can kill yourself on foot, it's also hard to climb by car.
