The New Athos Monastery in Abkhazia is a blessed and spiritual place!
It's so peaceful when you're here!
And the nature and landscapes are just incredible!
The decoration and paintings of the main temple of the monastery in honor of the healer Panteleimon with 5 chapels will remain in my heart for a long time!
And also inside the Panteleimon temple and on the territory of the monastery - you can safely take pictures.
But of course, the most important thing is to pray for your family and friends!

Baptism is not. Candles are sold by a candle shop. The city has a lot. The temple is not being restored inside, it is beautifully restored outside. The area near the temple is super. The excellent location of the temple (the view is gorgeous on the sea), inside it is even more beautiful, you can write notes about health and repose, buy icons, candles and go to the temple (shawls and skirts are given at the entrance). The road to the temple, if you can kill yourself on foot, it's also hard to climb by car.

A nice, warm place. Candles and church supplies are not sold on the territory of the temple itself. Personally, it seems to me that this is the main indicator of a real temple. The most beautiful views. A lot of the territory is fenced. You can write a lot about a place, but it's better to visit and leave your personal impression about the place. It is individual.

...we thought about it until we reached the Ritsa National Park and the Ritsa Lake itself :)
In general, it is interesting and beautiful. But unfortunately, everything is poor and dilapidated (the park in the village itself, the buildings).
Okay, not new cafe buildings, but everything is littered next to you five meters away. Well, clean it up... tourists will stay longer... They'll spend the money...
A paid toilet in the park is of course something with something))) like a Soviet-era railway station.
And they send everyone there from the cafe. 300 meters away from it.
Delicious inexpensive local wine, and cheap hazelnuts. For 100 rubles, a decent bag like this.
In the cafe, the waitress is unfriendly, like from the good old Soviet catering. Like, "stop asking questions about the menu! There are many of you, but I'm the only one here... if you choose, you will call." Then she seemed to relent.
But there was no desire to pay from the top of the bill either.
Although it was quite tasty in the end ...
However, hominy (tried for the first time) was not impressed at all - tasteless even with sauce. Well, they took one for everyone...
But the curd cheesecakes were good, and the sour cream for them was very local!

I'm not a fan of such places. It was just one of the points of the tour route. The monastery itself is not impressive: we went in and out. Forced to dress up in some shawls, some skirts. It's not all mine. Let those who are believers dress up in all this. Why should we. I put stars exclusively for the views: the monks knew where to build monasteries! Gorgeous views! On the sea, on the mountains, flowers and olive trees bloom everywhere. In general, colorful. It is worth visiting, but not in the high holiday season, there are too many people in August. Parking is also a problem, I was glad that we went on an excursion, and not on our own.

The famous monastery, built before the revolution, was consecrated and opened. It was closed around 1924 under Soviet rule. It has now been handed over to the church.
