It's a great place. Admission is free. At the entrance, they give a skirt and shawls. Very beautiful! You can get there from the border of Adler/Ahzasia by minibus (250-300 rubles). The reverse is the same. The journey takes about 1.5-2 hours in one direction. From the bus stop, walk to the monastery for 30 minutes. There is a park nearby where you can walk. It is better to clarify the schedule in advance. Previously, Monday was a day off.

Unfortunately, I was not impressed.
I was surprised that in all of Abkhazia they charge for entrance and parking wherever it is not a day, but everything is free in the monastery, respectively, there is clearly not enough money for restoration and maintenance. It would be logical to make the entrance paid, as, for example, in the main cathedrals of St. Petersburg.
The monastery itself looks very beautiful from afar against the background of the mountains, the sea views are very beautiful, but it lacks grooming and financing.

It is not a well-groomed place, the walls are shabby, there are merchants everywhere along the path to the temple, inside is in disrepair, no restoration. Well, the state could also allocate funds for the reconstruction of the main attraction of Abkhazia. The temple looks beautiful only from a distance. Utter disappointment. Candles are definitely sold there, there are two shops at the entrance below, you can buy candles, icons, calendars for next year, crosses, literature. There are a lot of people inside the monastery, they were on a weekday, in the morning. It was very hot, so we didn't walk much around the territory, there was enough climbing!)
