The whole of Bukhara is a delightful city, which I liked the most in Uzbekistan. Of course, I perceive all these amazing monuments in a completely different way with a guide, be sure to listen to the story, a solid Arabic fairy tale
Ark is a wonderful ancient place of the 2nd century AD. They are still preserved in their original form, festivals and concerts are held there. There is a museum and an observation deck
A historical place. Since this is not my first time in Bukhara, I was most interested in what is behind the restored facade of the fortress. For a small fee, we had a look. Unfortunately, all the buildings are in ruins. Judging by the records on the Internet, these are the results of the bombing of the Bolsheviks during the capture of the fortress. In general, it's an eerie sight. It is a pity that the beautiful historical buildings have not survived to the present day. (On the back side of the fortress, the one facing the prison, the wall has been thoroughly destroyed. They are trying to restore it. I think it will take a long time, given the scale of the destruction. The place is beautiful and iconic. It's worth a visit.
Really large-scale. A grandiose structure, legend has it that Siyavush is the founder of the citadel. Archaeological excavations show that there was a fortification here in the middle of the first millennium. If you want to learn more, there is a guide service
it is impossible to resist entering this huge fortress on the way between the other attractions of the city. it offers a wonderful view of the main mass of historical buildings. 5 bricks out of 5.
Cool and beautiful. And, on the outside, more than on the inside. There are a number of museums and streets. If you walk around the Arch from the outside, you can see the part that remained without restoration and understand how it was. Of course, all we see is the restored one. But it does not detract from the grandeur of the object.
It looks very impressive from the outside, it's a pity that it's not illuminated at night. I didn't really like it inside... a souvenir shop, a small museum of local lore, a huge excavation area. Perhaps it was necessary to take a guide at the entrance
A very good reconstruction of the ancient fortress. It powerfully complements the main sights of Bukhara. There is a historical museum inside. You can skip it if you have visited other museums with excursions.
Beautifully clean and tidy, you can buy handmade plates at the top of the mosque. The seller accepts transfers of the mir card. It is necessary to bargain, you can throw off 20-25% in the throne room, a local artist sells very interesting works, including in the style of picture calligraphy.
A very strong place. The place where the fate of the people and the region has always been decided. I recommend taking a guide - they are much more informative and you will learn more.
Who has not been to fabulous Uzbekistan yet?❤❤-it is easy to visit and get a lot of positive emotions and impressions.
Specifically, the Ark Fortress is a well-preserved appearance of the emir's residence..A very rich museum .Exhibits-from interior items,,-to the museum of the fauna of the region..
You can recreate everyday life, walk from the stables and the throne room to the mosque.
Be sure to visit if you are in Bukhara.
I will definitely return to this fairy tale again
One of the most outstanding historical places in the city, where there is also a museum with monuments of ancient writing. The most memorable is the throne room: when you enter it for the first time, you feel your heart begin to beat faster - after all, once there was a khan sitting here, at whose word alone a person could be imprisoned or executed. It's like everything here is saturated with human fear - that was my first feeling, at least.

According to legend, the fortress was built on a giant man-made hill, but who and when exactly have not yet been determined. Powerful walls, pot-bellied cone-shaped towers inspire respect for the defensive power of the citadel. Inside the fortress there is a Juma mosque (museum), a throne room and several exhibitions of the Museum of local lore. However, you can not only explore the exhibits, but also be an emir for a few minutes- sit on a replica of the throne in the rented clothes of the ruler.
A cool place for beautiful photos with history in the ancient city. Walking on excursions and outdoors with a guide is generally great.
I would come again
It is very interesting and there are air conditioners in the museum units, at +40 it is wonderful! The exposition is nice, not big. I would like to make there a good observation deck and more cafes in the national style around
The Citadel of Ark.
The oldest architectural monument in Bukhara is on Registan Square ("Sandy") with a fortress wall 18-20 meters high.
According to legend, Ark built Siyavush out of love for a girl whose father agreed to give her in marriage only if he could build a palace on one bull skin.
On the scientific side, archaeologists have discovered the remains of buildings dating back to the IV century BC, and the foundation itself was laid in the VI-III centuries BC.
Ark has been completely destroyed and rebuilt many times. The symbol of the city of Humo (Phoenix) is a beautiful allegory here.
On one of the walls of the Arch hung a large leather whip (kamcha) — a symbol of power in the Bukhara emirate. I do not know what size that whip was, but in the museum inside there is a whip of the 19th century hero of Russia with my height.
In general, the size of people's clothes at that time was impressive, as were many flights of steps in ancient buildings. The combination of very high steps, where I had to climb a couple of times, and small doorways, where even with my 165 you have to bend down a lot, remained a mystery to me.
Inside, there is now the Emir's Palace, an Architectural and Art Museum, a mosque and ruins in a closed area.
The poet Omar Khayam and the great healer Avicenna (Ali ibn Sina) worked here in the deep past, and a unique library was kept, unfortunately lost.
The museum has a color photograph of Seyid Alim Khan (1880-1944), the last emir of Bukhara. This is the work of Prokudin-Gorsky - I have long dreamed of and suddenly saw his work in the original here.
There is also a fragment of a black silk Kiswa from the Kaaba.
ARK is a very beautiful place, I highly recommend it. go in there. In general, this city is beautiful. You can walk. There is a lot of history and beautiful places. There is a wonderful view of the city from there!
My hometown.. I've known Ark since I was a kid.. It is a pity that only 15-20% of the total area is available for excursions. You can take a walk yourself, but it's better with a guide, it will be much more informative.
The oldest and very interesting place. Touching the most ancient times. You get into all the life that reigned long before our appearance. From the height there is a wonderful view of old Bukhara. A mandatory place to visit. To be in Bukhara and not visit the Acre - it shouldn't be like this.
By the way. Cute camels at the entrance. It's a pleasure to ride.
This is one of the best places in the world I've been. The only comparison is the Colosseum in Rome. Inside is a city with huge buildings and a museum. I highly recommend watching it.
It's a very cool place, especially the view from above of the city and the two camels who live there, you can take a photo with them. There are several museums on the territory that are worth visiting.
A very beautiful view of the citadel from the observation deck of the Shukhov Tower, Bukhara is a magical city!!! Everything is fine there , very hospitable and warm people !!!
It is beautiful, worth a look, immerse yourself in the past, the present heritage of Uzbekistan.

It's impressive. On a large scale. But, there are a lot of new models and there is nowhere for the eye to rest from modern artifacts in the form of all kinds of trade, electric cars, attractions, etc.
A picturesque place! How to be here and not visit?) It's unreal. Of course, the endless bazaar is infuriating, but there is nowhere without it either. To touch antiquity, admire the grandeur and beauty of minarets, get tired of counting mosques, madrasas and guest houses - it's all here)
I give the Citadel a solid 5, it deserves a 10 on a five-point scale. Monumental, excellent restoration, work continues now. Archaeologists continue to excavate. It is very wise that this place is given to them. Inside the surviving premises there are museums "about a little bit of everything" and trade. This is for an amateur, chaotic, out of place. I hope that a separate museum building will be built and this ruin will be moved there, and the fortress will remain a fortress. Make a path around the perimeter, restore the mosque - and with the view of the city that opens from the fortress, it will really become a treasure and a favorite place for pilgrims.
The heart of Bukhara, I love this place very much. I have been here more than once, but the most impressive thing was at the charity race that takes place here every year, the start and finish were from this place. The square was beautifully illuminated, the stage and music gave this place a special vibe.
From the outside, the Ark Fortress looks large and majestic. The entrance costs 40 thousand soums at the time of April 2024. And the inside is not at all like the outside. There's practically nothing there. All the objects of interest are grouped literally just outside the gates of the city, and then just dust and ruins. Of course, this is all history, but the opinion is that the expectation after what was seen outside was somewhat not justified.
A very cool building with an ancient atmosphere, there are several museums inside. I advise you to visit, it will remain in your memory for a long time with the most positive impressions!
It's a beautiful fortress, but it's more impressive from the outside than from the inside. There's not much to see or photograph inside. There is a beautiful view of the old town, if only you look inside from behind it
The place is very interesting and atmospheric. But we were unlucky with the guide, his name is Eugene. I highly do not recommend it if you plan to take a guided tour. I conducted the tour very quickly, not interesting, a very narcissistic character.
From the outside, the citadel is impressive, as is the whole old town. But inside there are dark rooms-museums, sucked out of the finger . Again, Uzbeks are sitting there selling souvenirs - everywhere . There is very little to see inside , but for the sake of sport you can go.
Must have.
I recommend taking a tour and asking for Eugene's guides: professional knowledge of history in general, Central Asia, the Middle East in particular, tells a very interesting story, the answer to any question is a whole lecture, 5 points!
I highly recommend visiting the fortress, which is considered the oldest architectural monument in Bukhara and is on the UNESCO World Heritage List. At one time, the fortress was a symbol of inaccessibility, greatness and power. In the 70s and 80s of the last century, archaeological excavations were carried out in the fortress, and in the early 2000s its restoration was carried out.
There is already a lot written about history, legends, museums, etc.
I will not repeat myself.
For me, this is one of the favorite places in Bukhara. You can just sit next to the walls on a bench and enjoy the view of the powerful walls that have seen oh so much.
After the bombing of 1920 under the leadership of Comrade Frunze, very little remained of the Arch. Most of the citadel is still in ruins. No more than 20% of the area is open to the public.
