The view is gorgeous, BLUNDERING! It's just an incredible place in general, We really love Sevan and specifically the view of it from Sevanavank. There are very beautiful paintings on the stairs. And the monastery is one of the most authentic!

It's a very picturesque place, of course it's difficult to climb, narrow stairs, but it's worth it.

A gorgeous place on the shore of Sevan! Very atmospheric and beautiful views. It's really a bit of a walk uphill, but it's really worth it.

Beautiful views and no more advantages. Climbing the mountain implies a "fun" adventure along a narrow and crooked staircase. And instead of expanding it somehow, the Armenians preferred to set up a bunch of stalls along the way, where they would persistently sell you cheap souvenirs and pomegranate juice. On the mountain itself sits a funny guy named Hamlet, who breeds a pigeon of desires for a service (like, he launched the bird and everything will come true). At the very peak, there is some kind of unfinished building with protruding fittings, or some kind of ruins. And as always, there's trash everywhere and not a single trash can. I asked a local where I could throw a plastic cup, so he says that it can be directly on the ground..

An incredibly atmospheric and expensive place, there is a complete sense of immersion in the days when this complex was built, the incredible views of the mountains take away all the imagination, I want to come back here again and again

The monastery is located on the shore, surrounded by the expanses of the lake, which, by the way, is very large. In April, it is still cool and there is practically no greenery. The architecture, as in the whole country, is strict and at the same time monolithic and unshakable, it will stand for the same amount of time. It is better to choose the time for swimming closer to August. Purely for the sake of Sevanak, I do not recommend going, but I recommend the intermediate stage to Dilijan :)

Another interesting church that towers over the north. Very old. You need to be ready to walk high up the stairs. And, be sure to keep in mind the presence of strong winds. If it is strong, then the higher it is, the stronger and colder it blows.

We were here at the end of October 2024. Monastery on the shore of Sevan, beautiful view. Nearby is the writer's house, a Soviet-era building in the style of constructivism, which is also interesting to look at.

This temple is evidence of the ancient Armenians. Very important evidence has been preserved about how the Armenians created and lived. Thank you for giving us the opportunity to learn and get acquainted with the life and activities of Armenians. I recommend

It's a cool place. Great views! Be sure to bring warm clothes with you. In Yerevan it can be plus 20-25, at an altitude of 2,000 m it can easily be plus five cold wind and fog.

This is, as they say, a "must see" If you come to Armenia, you can get there in an hour by car. Lots of souvenirs. Lots of tourists. But you will always find beautiful views to photograph temples and lakes. Good luck!

The first monks in this monastery appeared on the island at the end of the 8th century (yes, until 1940 this place was an island), they built cells and a chapel. In 874, the monastery was founded by Princess Mariam, the daughter of Ashot I Bagratuni and the wife of Prince Gegharkunik Vasak Gabur. The tsar of Armenia, Ashot II the Iron, lived in the monastery for some time. Near the walls of the monastery, he gave battle to the Arab soldiers who approached the shore of Sevan. The monks of Sevanavank also participated in the Battle of Sevan, who declared it the will of Providence on the occasion of the victory. In the XVI–XVII centuries, the monastery walls were destroyed, and in 1930 the last monk left the island. In the mid-1950s, the monastery buildings were reconstructed: historically valuable elements went to museums, and copies took their place. In 1990, the Vazgen I Theological Seminary was opened here, one of the two operating in Armenia (the other in Etchmiadzin).  Sevanavank is included in the UNESCO list of Cultural heritage sites. I really liked the lake itself and the ancient monastery. There was a strong energy, and the views were simply fabulous!

The stairs are covered by one or two, there is nothing heavy there, and then there are magnificent views. Souvenirs are more expensive in some places than in the center of Yerevan, but that's who came for what :)

I was here as part of a group tour from Hyur Service. You can buy a souvenir coin in the machine as a keepsake, accepts only a 1000 AMD bill and does not give change. Despite the bad weather and heavy rain, I climbed the steps to the temple. I think the views here are even more stunning in good weather
