Great spot to enjoy the sea view and relax. The promenade is modern and clean, with a nice selection of restaurants and cafes—slightly pricier than average, but nothing extreme. It can get quite crowded when cruise ships are docked, so keep that in mind if you’re planning a calm stroll

The Galata port was founded in Byzantine times and served as an important harbor for ships. During the Ottoman Empire, the port continued to play a key role in the development of trade and shipping. Shipyards, warehouses and customs offices were located here. With the development of the city and the increase in maritime transport, Galata Port has become one of the main transport hubs in Istanbul. I read that this area has been inaccessible for more than 200 years and was opened after reconstruction not so long ago. Again, I read that this is practically an underground city: thanks to a complex underground hatch system, this port became the first underground terminal for cruise ships. The entrance to the port area is limited, to get to the embankment you have to go through a metal detector. I counted three entrances. The territory's landscaping project is designed in a single modern style, and the Istanbul Museum of Modern Art is also located here. Near the promenade, you can come across Art Nouveau sculptures and installations: for example, the all-seeing eye with the names of Istanbul in different eras. The shops on the territory are mostly from the above-average price category, there are Turkish designer brands. It is incredibly beautiful and pleasant to just take a walk in good weather to the cries of seagulls and the sound of waves, or to sit in one of the many cafes.…

It is now a new urban art space. It is separated from the city by cafes, restrooms and shops. A boardwalk with benches and a beautiful view. Yes, there are metal detector frames at the entrances to the shops, but this is quite normal. You can get in through the store galleries, or just from the street (glass fencing is not everywhere). The Istanbul Modern exhibition is also located on the territory. The backlight is on in the evening. The only thing is that shops and restaurants start closing at 22:00, and there are fewer exits. And yes, large liners are still moored (closer to the Galata Bridge). In short, it's worth coming in and giving your opinion, especially since it's completely free.
