Me and my daughter came here on the 2nd of February 2025 and still live here. From the very start we met a wonderful young girl Sandali by name, who was very much kind and attentive to us! She was very sincere
asking how was the flight and so on, very quickly gave us a wonderful room sea view. She is a real God sent person and the big boss of the hotel should appreciate her! All service is very good here, polite and attentive. The food is good and healthy, The ocean is tender and it is very funny to swim with the waves. Be sure you will like it here

It doesn't pull at 4*, it's a good three. The food is suitable, there is more or less a choice, there are few vegetables and they are not tasty. The desserts are delicious. The rooms are standard, in principle spacious. Towels and linen are practically not changed, even if they are thrown on the floor, they can be changed if you can see that it is already dirty. The bartenders are disgusting, the bar is expensive if not inclusive. They chase after their own if they bring it to the lobby, only in the rooms it is allowed to consume. The area in the district is a village, there is nothing sensible. A tuk tuk at the hotel for three hundred round trips takes you to civilization, they can wait. The territory is good. The beach is so-so, the coast is fast for swimming, the waves are always not puny, for extreme ones. The hotel has a Russian girl on staff, she will always help. Thanks to Nastya for everything!

Our flight was rescheduled and the operator transported and checked into this hotel for 2 days. The hotel has a nice territory, everything is clean, the breakfasts were varied. Anastasia, a Russian-speaking girl, helped with all the questions, thanks a lot.

A wonderful hotel. We celebrated the New Year in 2023 in it. Rooms with ocean views, sandy beach, two swimming pools, gym, entertainment program. We took breakfast and dinner. The only disadvantage is that the location from the airport was far away, the transfer was 3.5 hours. But this is a feature of the flight from Yekaterinburg, the plane lands not at the central airport, but in the village at my grandmother's :) I recommend the hotel🤩

Don't be afraid of them. He is a very decent person, speaks Russian well and tours are cheaper than those of tour operators. He drives an air-conditioned car for 6-8 people. The hotel is well not 5* not once.. Old sun beds, towels.. The food is normal, but very simple, the choice is minimal on the seam. Eating for an additional fee a la carte is a completely different matter, decent and delicious! The rooms are normal. The hotel itself has a large territory, but it's kind of unkempt. A good hotel, but the northern building is better, well-groomed territory, lots of palm trees to hide from the sun, there are always free sunbeds, towels are given out without problems, a wonderful and clean beach, a fantastic ocean, sand bottom, there are waves, but you can safely swim and swing on the waves between two wave lines where they twist. The rooms are cleaned and towels are changed daily. There is always some kind of program in the evening, mostly musical. All kinds of sports activities and volleyball during the day.
There are two pools in which it is pleasant to swim after the ocean. Minus, this is a small assortment of food, but everyone can find their own dishes. There are always papayas, pineapples, watermelons, bananas from fruits. They give ice cream for dinner. If you can travel, it is better to take breakfast and dinner, if not, then everything is included. I was very pleased with my stay at this hotel.

We rested from 10.01 to 21.01.24. What can I say I liked the hotel, we lived on the 5th floor with a beautiful view of the ocean. The staff is friendly, although many people do not speak much Russian. The room was cleaned every day. There are not many spicy dishes with food, but since we had breakfast and dinner, we had lunch in a cafe or restaurant by the ocean. Seafood is always fresh. The terrarium is well maintained and always clean. Animators do not do a bad job with their duties, there is always something new. A great quiet hotel away from the hustle and bustle of the city.
The ocean is beautiful, the bottom is sandy, there are waves. I do not recommend it with small children.

The hotel was greeted with smiles and refreshing drinks. We checked into room 419 in the old building, as requested on the upper 4th floor / in fact the 5th. I like it higher, so that there is a view and to walk up the stairs, especially since there is only one elevator in the south wing and we used it 5-6 times during the whole vacation. All rooms have sea views, but the South wing is definitely in need of renovation. The light bulbs in the hallway, above the mirror and on the balcony did not work. Special thanks for the normal pillows, not bricks like in most hotels. But I advise girls to take their own hair dryer, especially if you have long hair. Very low-power, only for "drying". With a short haircut, it took me 15 minutes, if not more.
Kitchen and restaurant for 4+. Half of the dishes of the usual buffet + Lankan cuisine. There are water coolers in the hallway, which was not surprising, but pleased. Yes, yes, I asked you to bring me water and lime))) one boy brought me beer to the water all the time, probably wondering how we didn't drink alcohol at lunch and dinner)). Lion beer is light, but slightly sweet. Big greetings to the guys from the bar Acela, Sheahan, etc. It was nice to spend evenings there for small talk. Thank you for your memory / what and to whom to pour and efficiency, everything is very fast! You can't say that about cleaning, but in the end, you shouldn't pay attention to the little things on vacation.
The hotel is located in a place where there is nowhere to go out, little things like magnets, etc. for souvenirs you can buy in the shop at the hotel. But you will not be bored, and there is animation software, and live music. And different animals like chipmunks, monitor lizards and flying foxes are very entertaining.
The beach is long in both directions, but the hotels are not a solid line, and there are a lot of huts between them. The hotel is separated from the beach by a small fence, which somehow restrains the locals: hello, massage $ 10, let's go on a tour, etc.
The ocean is always agitated and you can't swim here, but jumping on the waves is also a lot of fun.
There are a couple of supermarkets in the village, but they don't sell alcohol, for this you need to go to a special "wine shop" / we don't need to, so I don't know how much to go and what for. There is also no local rum in Duty free, so it's worth going to the liquor store if you need to bring it home.
On the downside: on weekends, crowds of locals come to the cabins / cabana and arrange very loud parties with music and dancing. They are so loud that it is impossible to be comfortable at the other end of the hotel, I had to ask them to turn it down, because personally I prefer to listen to the sound of waves and birds, rather than old tracks from 10 years ago. For holidays with children, despite the presence of a children's pool and a mini club, I would not recommend it, because the ocean is always stormy to one degree or another, and schoolchildren will be stupidly bored.

We were at Turyaa Kalutara from December 18 to 27 from Anex Tour.
In general, it's not bad, but the big fat minus of the hotel is the staff 👎:
- upon check-in, they were given a room with a broken bathroom door in the old building, despite the fact that the superior in the new one was paid for. They brazenly lied that there were no more places and they could not move to another room, but as soon as they offered $$, the proper room was immediately found;
- the porter practically extorted tips. There were no small bills with him, they gave him a chocolate bar, took it, left, but he was obviously disappointed;
- They don't understand English well! there was no hot water in the room for 2 days, I went to the reception to leave a request to be fixed, so the lady hardly understood what I wanted from her;
- literally on the eve of departure at 8 pm, they could not find data on the time of transfer to the airport, several people from the reception ran around for a long time, fussed, checked notes in notebooks, called somewhere, as a result, after 15 minutes of searching, information was found in some employee's smartphone. Why it was impossible to print and hang on the stand, as is done in all normal hotels, is a big question;
- when leaving, they tried to charge me for a previously paid bill at the bar, they waited for 10 minutes, the payment was eventually found, after several calls and checking the papers.
Of the advantages, I would like to note the location — quite close to Colombo airport (1-1.5 hours drive) and a well-maintained territory.
The beach is also quite clean, convenient sandy entry into the water, but there are always waves. Swimming in the usual sense of the word will not work.

As for the food, I can only share my impressions of the breakfasts.
They are standard and have not changed — eggs (boiled + white omelet and scrambled eggs), fruits (bananas, papaya, pineapple, watermelon, passion fruit, sometimes sour cream apple and guava were given), oatmeal porridge with milk, bacon, some chemical sausages, cheese of the same kind, unripe tomatoes and cucumbers, beans in sauce. Tea, coffee, juices. We had lunch and dinner at the nearby Green Lobster beach cafe — it's more expensive there than in other nearby cafes, but everything is very tasty!
By the way, there is nothing in the hotel for children, except for a children's "appendix" in the pool. The kids' club is closed. There is practically no animation (but this is the norm for SHL :))
In general, a 4* hotel does not match, three is the maximum

The beach is steep and sandy, but the sun beds on site are shaded by palm trees and magnolias. The local entrance to the hotel is taboo, beach fights conduct their work on organizing excursions from behind the fence. A good hotel for a solid 4th! For those who like a relaxing holiday without hanging out. I mean, the external infrastructure (shops, restaurants, markets, etc.) is not located near the hotel. But you can always leave the hotel and take a tuk-tuk to Kalutara for $ 1 (10 minutes). Maintenance is normal! The hotel staff is always ready to help, and if they are fertilized with small tips or Russian gifts, they will generally "lick" the whole vacation. Nearby (we went to the beach and left 100m) is the Green Lobster restaurant. We went there all the time for lunch. Seafood is super and very cheap.

We visited this hotel in late January-early February 2023. It's summer there at this time! They settled right away. The hotel is cool!!! The territory is not small, it is guarded very carefully, there are many guards in uniform. WiFi is free, it catches well everywhere: in the hotel, on the territory of the hotel, in the rooms, near the hotel, on the beach of the hotel by the ocean - we have been in many countries and hotels, but we have never seen this anywhere, super!!! Swimming pools, 2 bars, a restaurant, a gym, souvenir shops, a volleyball court, etc. it is spacious inside the common building! On the territory there are chipmunks, monkeys, monitor lizards, even peacocks, birds of all kinds, etc. The attitude of the staff is very friendly!!! The rooms are cleaned every day. Dark rum is good in the bar, and so is the rest of the alcohol! Branded Coca-Cola, Sprite, Fanta and other bottled carbonated drinks are available in bars without restrictions in quantity, all kinds of juices!!! But the truth is that my wife and her friend didn't really like alcoholic cocktails. One of the bars is open from 10:00 to 24:00, the other one I don't remember. There were often dishes with shrimp and (or) squid! From fruits: chopped watermelons, papaya, pineapples, bananas, passion fruit, guava, etc. Many spicy and non-spicy dishes. For lunch and dinner - always ice cream, different every time! And most importantly, the warm Indian Ocean is right next to it and all the rooms of the hotel have balconies overlooking it!!! In the evening there is live music, although there is not enough animation to entertain somehow more. Someone writes that the sockets in the room are not suitable for our Russian plugs! Maybe it used to be like that, but now it's not like that! The sockets in our rooms were non-standard, but they are universal (we were told about this at the reception, we returned to the room, checked, and lo and behold, all our plugs fit and no adapters and adapters are needed!!!) Someone writes that lunches, dinners, drinks, alcohol, beer are paid! This is not quite true! When buying an all-inclusive tour, and there were 99.9% of them, everything is free (except for the minibar in the room), even the safe in the room is free, and beach towels are given without consideration! There is a very high humidity due to the fact that the ocean is nearby, everything dries for a long time! In general, this is a great hotel for a relaxing holiday!!!

Don't sign the check-in document until you see the number. The rooms are very different in age, there are really battered ones. They change easily, fulfill your every whim.
The ocean is constantly stormy, large waves usually on a full moon, but this does not prevent swimming. Children should be carefully monitored . The ocean is very warm, the bottom is excellent without reefs and rocks.
There are a lot of animals in the hotel, a contact free zoo.
As for leisure, I advise you to contact a professional. There are beachboys working on the shore. We used the services of a guy named RICKY. I attached the photos to the report. He organized all the excursions, shops, daily free coconuts, trips to the market for fruits. The only thing that is required is to find him or ASANA, and not enter into a dialogue with others, they have fierce competition there.

We arrived almost 3 days ago, as the garbage on the territory of the chocolate wrappers was lying on the lawn, and it is lying around. You need to look at your feet on the lawn! In the truest sense of the word, piles of shit from lizards or maybe someone else are lying ... no one is cleaning up!!!
The concept is all inclusive, exaggerated, in the bar, the counters are always dirty, there is only one towel-they wipe all the glasses with it, they just wash it under the tap without additional funds!!! Of the drinks rum, vodka, about 4 cocktails that taste terrible!
The room is damp, stinks of old age, apparently it was not particularly cleaned upon arrival, orange juice stains spilled and live with us for 3 days.
For the first time in my life, there are so many unpleasant moments in one hotel!
It's a pity that for such money, you get such an impression!

Good afternoon, everyone. We stayed at this hotel from December 25, 2023 to January 4, 2024 on an all-inclusive basis. To say that there is no service in this hotel is to say nothing. Firstly, there were 2 towels for three vacationers in the room, it was unrealistic to ask to clean the room, for 9 days spent there they cleaned only 3 times and then had to go to the reception in the morning, afternoon and evening. During the celebration of the New Year, some kind of inadequate person entered the toilet, ambushed the girl and groped her, to which the security service said if you did not remember him, go to the police, no one even bothered to check the cameras about the holiday itself, the tables were set on the second floor in the building, and a bar where you could take drinks outside, 2 drinks were given out in one hand!!! Well, the saddest thing is that there is not a single lifeguard on the beach, not a single buoy, 2 days before departure, an adult man drowned in the ocean and his body was not found ..... you should have seen his wife's eyes...to which the staff shrugged and called the police.

We were in 2014 (then it was called differently). To be honest, it was one of the first hotels in my life. And then it seemed super duper luxury cuts. Over the years, you realize that only the food and the ocean were good (to which the hotel has nothing to do). They settled us with problems, they often wrote about them (there are no places), but after calling the tour agency and threatening to call the embassy, we were given a bungalow instead of a standard room. But we moved out of it a few days later, because there were ants there. But the vacation was long-awaited and we didn't want to be burdened with these problems. The food was good, the animation was designed for European visitors.

Kapets service is lame. The staff seemed to have forgotten what to do during the pandemic years. The rooms are patched, designed clumsily. For example, you cannot reach the bedside lamp from the bed with your hand (if the hand is not one and a half meters long), all light control is placed on the bedside table, the buttons on which are not even illuminated. But the sea is gorgeous, albeit wavy.
