We visited the palace in the morning, at about 9:30. The queue was not very big, we stood in it for 15 minutes. It is a pity that the audio guide needs to be taken elsewhere, there was a queue for 40 minutes, we did not stand, we went straight to the palace territory. I get 1 star for this."
I don't know why people write negative reviews about this place, maybe they are in a bad mood."
Every time you visit historical sites, I recommend that you familiarize yourself with the history of the place in advance so that you can navigate more inside and not get lost.
The palace itself impressed, we had a nice time, it was interesting to visit the rooms of the palace and the harem.
I also want to note that when visiting all the attractions in the morning, there are few people compared to the afternoon or evening. Consider this. Buses with tourists arrive in large numbers during the day.
It looks like the Hermitage, but it is unreasonably expensive and there are no declared museum jewels (a couple of diamonds), and the rest is not earlier than the 19th century.
The territory is very large, but there is absolutely illiterate logistics, piles of people and crowds pushing into the narrow fences of the premises.
From 500 to 650 liras for foreigners, for locals 110/140 liras... The difference is significant, it's a bit expensive for a museum. It is not written anywhere that you need to leave a document for an audio guide, we have not seen it. There are a lot of people, but closer to closing, you can even take a picture without the crowd.
There are very few such museums in the world. To get acquainted with how the lords of the Middle Ages lived, to see in person the places where they hosted guests and ancient relics is just wonderful. I definitely advise you to visit. You won't regret it!!!

The palace complex of the sultans is located on a huge territory on the mountain. It offers breathtaking views of the historical center of Istanbul, the Galata Bridge and the Bosphorus. In addition to the buildings themselves, there are also numerous collections of sultans, from weapons to family jewels. It makes sense to visit this complex with a guide.
Overall, the palace is impressive. But, without a guide, it is difficult to understand something. Audio guide (which is given free of charge as a deposit of 100 euros or a document) it will tell you something, but the purpose of most of the rooms will remain a mystery.
It is necessary to start the inspection early, even in winter, the queue at the ticket office, it is better to immediately go left to the harem, we went first to the right to the kitchens and eventually barely managed to get to the harem half an hour before closing, but we went there alone with the museum guards. A ticket to the harem is purchased additionally, the palace is amazing.
A very interesting palace complex. Order and cleanliness are maintained. You see how people lived in the Middle Ages. The conditions are very far from comfortable. Except for the Sultan's chambers. And the entrance ticket is not cheap 650 t.lire

For the entrance fee, you must give free coffee with fruits at the exit.
In general, it's interesting, but more than half of it is closed for viewing.
Just for once.

It is wrong to be in Istanbul and not visit the Sultan's palace. The price tag is 1500 liras. It's expensive, but it's worth it. The audio guide is included in the price - you can use your phone, or you can take an additional one for free, secured by a document.
I recommend you to visit.
It is worth going only to the harem, but the ticket is included only in the total price. It's a little expensive. It is better to visit in the first hour after opening or a couple of hours before closing. The rest of the time there are a lot of people. Tuesday is a day off.
I have read many reviews. I absolutely agree! The very high ticket price is 500 lire without a harem. There's just nothing to watch. I'm from St. Petersburg myself. We do not have such prices for foreign tourists in any museum. And our museums are no match for this one. There is simply no palace as such. Separate empty buildings. Without a special interior. There is an order of magnitude more information on the Internet!
Read it, go to the entrance and you will understand everything!
Of course, if there is a financial opportunity to visit, it is necessary, and it is desirable to take a full tour, calculate the time, if you walk and watch, and not run, then four to six hours. We took an audio guide and were very happy, it's just not interesting to walk, souvenirs like everywhere else , snack bar , toilets, everything is fine. The expositions are interesting

It is worth visiting this palace at least once in your life, get into the emotions of that time and try to travel back in time. One of the best sights of Istanbul.
Not worth the money (1,500 lire)
We didn't understand other people's enthusiasm for this palace. At least he did not make an impression on the palace.

On 05.07.23, the ticket price for foreigners is 950 lire with a harem, 750 lire without a harem. It's expensive, but we went with pleasure, there is something to see) Before that, it was winter and some of the pavilions were closed. In summer, there are many times more people, but also more open and exposed than in winter. Come to the opening (9:00) and calmly look at everything in 3-4 hours.
A beautiful library.
At the end of the palace on the left side there is a beautiful view of Istanbul - I recommend it for photo portraits.
They didn't stand in line for antique relics after a couple of Dutch people said it wasn't worth it.
I was with a tour group, there were no queues because the pass card was issued on the bus. The palace is very beautiful and gives the impression that the sultan or his loved ones are about to appear around the bend
It is very beautiful and unusual for a Russian person

Very interesting. It's like touching the past.
Unfortunately, the guides were not found, it would be more interesting to work with them, an audio guide was provided
An interesting historical place, worth visiting. Unfortunately, they did not sell a ticket including a harem with a strange motivation, like they ran out, so 4 points.
