Despite the fact that they were caught in a downpour
The little one was delighted
And my beloved and I were not particularly upset.
In a word, it's great, I advise you to visit
I don't even know how to comment on this. Stink, sick animals, and hungry ones. There is no limit to my indignation. Animals in tiled caves, tiles from toys. Abkhazia is a country of forests, why not bring at least one fallen tree to the aviary so that the monkeys can create a more familiar environment, hang ropes, swings. Monkeys fight from idleness, injure each other. Reprimand the owners, they just mock the animals
The children liked it, the cost of food for monkeys is 100 rubles per package. The tour is not very interesting, it is better to walk by yourself and feed the animals
A nursery with a large number of monkeys, mainly hamadryas and macaques. Animals enjoy eating tangerines, and they also like sausages. The children liked it.
A place of love for animals, it is clear that really dedicated employees work here. In July 2021, after a hurricane, five monkeys escaped from cages damaged by a tree, three were caught on the same day, the fate of two monkeys remained unknown to me.
It is very interesting that the research Institute for monkeys is located there, it works barely 10 percent after the Soviet Union was destroyed, a lot fell into disrepair and no one needs anything, but in general it is interesting especially for those who advise you to go for the first time
The place is interesting, but it's a pity for monkeys, it's dirty in cages, sad people are sitting, there are no swings, no logs in the caves for the entertainment of monkeys, as in zoos.
There are few monkeys, the road to the nursery is broken, you have to pay for everything, you pay for the entrance ticket, then you pay for parking, and you also pay for the toilet on the territory
When you are in Sukhumi, be sure to visit the monkey nursery. On the way, buy oranges and tangerines, they love them very much and there are a lot of monkeys there. There is also a monument to monkeys (they were put up because medicines were tested on them in the USSR and not only). There was also a monkey nursery before reaching Ochamchira under the USSR, but now there are only ruins and a small river runs at the end of the ruins (there are many crayfish in it).
Everything is fine, you can walk with the children to feed the monkeys, the only price is only animal food is not very cheap and does not suit all primates
I remember what he was like in Soviet times...now there is only a small part left...sadly. But even now you can get to know its inhabitants, who are quite sad...
It is certainly interesting, but 100 rubles for parking + 200 food + 350 rubles tickets from everyone who wants to see the monkey santabarbara. And do not ignore the warning that you need to take off all glasses, caps, watches, rings and chains, they will be torn off at the moment when trying to feed supposedly naive macaques.
I feel sorry for the monkeys (The cages are small. Of course, repairs and reconstruction are required.
In general, of course I liked it, the child is delighted, and my husband and I are too. The animals are nice))
Never come to the nursery! The monkeys are all sick and kept in disgusting conditions! I came out after 5 minutes, because without pity and compassion for animals, it is not possible to look at it.
100 rubles Parking, 250 entrance per person, 100 rubles food for monkeys (food, these are skins from watermelon and melon and the remains of stale bread) Better transfer this money to children who need it!
Cages with the most resistant species are most likely on display for visitors. Monkeys, gibbons, etc. It is interesting to feed them fruits (you need to buy them on the spot). Admission costs 250 rubles per adult.
It's worth going there, but it's a pity for the animals. If you are going to go there, in a regular store, collect more carrots, watermelon, nuts for treating monkeys. At the entrance, the locals sell it very expensively.
This place left a mixed impression. On the one hand, a wide variety of monkeys is interesting. But on the other hand, heavy sediment from animal housing. You can watch it once, but you don't want to watch it a second time.
We decided to visit this nursery because of the enthusiastic stories of my mother, who was there before the war with Georgia.
The road there turned out to be not easy, it takes a long time to climb the stairs, but this is not a problem, since it was made, although for a long time, but very beautiful, and the nature around is always pleasing.
But the monkey himself left terrible memories.
In front of the entrance there are guys who sell food for monkeys (a small bag with vegetables and fruits 200 rubles). I assumed that these were enterprising employees of the nursery who sell food allocated to monkeys for the sake of an extra "penny" in their pocket, since the monkeys are all very hungry and hang on the bars with an outstretched paw..
An employee of the nursery stands at the entrance, who immediately directs everyone to the cashier, apparently so that people do not have time to look around and understand what is going on there. A visit costs 250 rubles. The cashier, apparently, is a fan of fishing, since tickets are not given to everyone.
It is noticeable that the war has reached here, as there are destroyed buildings and cages everywhere, which no one is trying to reconstruct.
There are very few animals left compared to what was, about 4-5 varieties.
The nameplates in some places do not correspond to reality, the cells are very small, dirty, have been in need of repair for a long time, somewhere the cells are directly filled with monkeys, which obviously have very little space there. There is a terrible stench everywhere, many monkeys are sick, mangy, with some kind of formations on their bodies.
When you pass by the cage, they look at you with their unhappy eyes and seem to beg for help, pull a paw, ask for food. The sight is just creepy, I couldn't stay there for long and hurried away.
As far as I know, initially, back in Soviet times, this nursery was necessary for a research center, since experiments and research were conducted on these monkeys, but it was also destroyed during the war, and now the remaining poor animals simply live out their days in agony from imprisonment in terrible conditions..
In general, I came to get pleasant impressions from admiring cute animals, and eventually left with a lump in my throat, tears in my eyes and a constricted heart from the realization of the pain and horror that innocent animals are forced to experience because of the cruelty and callousness of the people to whom they belong.
Hello! We have been here with children for many years. It was a Holiday!!!
And the last time - in the summer of this year - IT was SAD.... The consequences of the war MUST be eliminated... Good health to all!
The children liked it.They arrived in the morning and cleaned the cages. They washed them in front of us.They can be more careful with monkeys and show aggression
