The guys were there in 2023, there are only 2 species of monkeys, placed in different cages, so do not spend 400 rubles per person. There's nothing to do there.
The famous nursery in the past is located on the slope of Trapezium Mountain in Sukhum, near the botanical garden. It was founded in 1927, and now we see on the territory what we managed to preserve after the collapse of the Soviet Union and the 1992-93 war.
The ascent to the nursery is up a long and steep staircase.
There are only monkeys in cages on the territory (3 species), the territory is not well maintained, you can feed the animals. And in general, that's all.
The conditions of detention leave much to be desired.
You can join the tour - they tell you in some detail about the work of the institute and about the local inhabitants.
There is a monument to physiologist I.P.Pavlov and a monument to monkeys on the territory.
The process of feeding monkeys is interesting for children. Parking is paid, 100 rubles. You can also buy a bag of fruits there. It is necessary to feed carefully, because monkeys are arrogant and nimble, they grab a stick on which you slip them pieces of food. The cages don't have a very pleasant smell and are a bit dirty.
If I had known in advance that there would be two or three species of monkeys there, I would not have gone. Well, but the children are interested, you can feed the monkeys.
You can go. On the way, I start to sell food, saying that it is more expensive in the park itself. No more expensive! And even more. Or you can take and assemble the mix yourself (Cucumbers, bread, melon). Monkeys are cute, but you shouldn't get too close. I was feeding with a stick, but I still got hit on the hand. It doesn't hurt, but it's scratched.
I have never visited a more terrible place. The monkeys are sitting in the mud, the cages are cramped, at least they have hung up old tires and ropes.Very sad.
The place is interesting, but the entrance fee is superfluous. It is better to take extra food, but there is not enough of it. The distant monkeys don't see him at all
It's a pity for monkeys, they have their own hierarchy, it's sad to see how the elders chase the younger ones. Feed those monkeys that are further away from the start of the tour.
Sadness. I would like to repeat this word almost everywhere in Abkhazia.
Such a HUGE nursery, both in area and in importance, is in terrible disrepair.
That is, it works, scientific work is being carried out in it, you can go there, but the territory is neglected, buildings are falling apart, cages with animals are old. The horror!!! But at the same time, the animals are clean, the cages are cleaned, there is a smell, but this is a nursery. At the entrance to the kennel, you can buy treats for animals-a 100-ruble bag. But the animals do not starve and choose the food offered.
There are quite a lot of visitors. Of course, the children are happy, but the adults see everything.
I would have gone there again - no.
I have been to this nursery many times. I really like to come there and watch the monkeys, feed them, you can buy treats for monkeys right on the spot, but we also bought nuts and fruits separately at the market.
There are a lot of monkeys and macaques. It's a pity for them, of course. They eat the offered food well. Many are overfed and refuse treats. In general, the children liked it.
A place for one time, about 9 species of primates are presented for review. At the entrance to the territory, you can buy a package with treats for monkeys. An employee of the nursery at the beginning of the tour tells about the nursery, about pets, safety precautions, etc.
It is very painful to look at the unfortunate monkeys. I don't recommend it. It's a depressing sight. Also, the entrance to all this is 400 rubles per person.
This is not at all the nursery that was before the conflict; (Heaven and earth. Small cells, which sometimes contain a whole flock. There are very few species.
In general, it looks like an animal prison. I definitely do not recommend visiting with children.
It's a pity that they brought it to such a state. Monkeys are fed bread soaked in milk, the road to the nursery is completely killed! This attitude is UNACCEPTABLE!
There are many monkeys, but there are no species, baboons, some macaques, limours and another species. But there are many cells. Parking is 100 rubles. The food is watermelon rind 200 rubles., it is better to buy bananas for these 200 rubles, the monkeys were generally delighted, the child liked to feed them. I just went for him.

At the entrance, they try to plant bananas, despite the fact that it is forbidden to feed them. Well, in general, it's a pity for monkeys, and it's not necessary to show it to the kids. It does not carry this kind and sweet. But to take you to a nursing home, the thought may arise
The nursery used to be much bigger. Now, at the beginning of the park, the monkeys are well-fed. A little further you will pass very hungry and dirty valliers. A man (an employee) was walking around the park, apparently he offends the monkeys very much, they are very afraid of him!!!! Apparently beats them.......
I really liked it. However, monkeys have eyes like humans, they look at you with such eyes, it becomes a pity. Be careful with children. They can pull on the sleeve. In general, Abkhazia is very beautiful, there are many places where you can go. Recommend
Several aviaries are fresh, one has already been destroyed by something/someone. The rest are in terrible condition, as are half of the animals. There are many aviaries, but there is no question of the declared diversity of species. 90% of the enclosures are inhabited by 2 species.
There are a lot of monkeys, it is interesting that they have access and you can feed the monkeys (but be careful not to grab your phone, glasses, etc.), one of the disadvantages is that the conditions of their detention are very mediocre and despite such a number of individuals, I counted only 4 species of monkeys
It's beautiful, worth the climb. The monkeys themselves are no longer very good at eating what they sell on the territory. We bought fruits in the city (not in good condition for a penny) and that's what they ate with pleasure - bananas, peaches and apples
It's very dirty. There are many monkeys, almost all species are the same. They don't want to eat the food they sell at the entrance. Children may be grabbed by the hand while feeding.
I really feel sorry for the monkeys. The administration is riding on Soviet heritage. Everything is dilapidated. It is unclear where such money for admission goes. Parking is also paid. The guard argues that they drove 2000 km, but it's a pity to pay 100 rubles for parking.
