My husband and I were brought to the Old Market (Matrah Suk) in Muscat by our guide, Pavel, so that we could plunge into the exotic and feel the oriental flavor of Oman, for which he conducted a short tour for us in this authentic place (about 40 minutes). We walked along the sleeves of this bazaar - we gawked, showed ourselves, looked at others, but did not buy anything, since there was no fundamental task. Although my husband walked around Arab knives like a fox at a grape. If you have the time and energy, you can look here, but without fanaticism!
There is no authenticity, a boring and uninteresting market, compared to other colorful oriental markets. Sellers are very intrusive, they do not bargain very much. And the product is especially without choice and interest for me.
An excellent oriental bazaar, in its classic form. You can and should bargain, the local people have the same knowledge of English as you do. Everyone understands each other at once)))
The old Oriental bazaar. The ceilings made an impression! Friendly sellers haggled with pleasure. I bought incense and a cashmere shawl. I was very pleased, I wanted to come back the next day.

I wasn't very impressed with the market, although I'm a fan of such oriental bazaars. Scrap prices, average product quality, sellers don't bargain much. But we must pay tribute, the bazaar is large and very authentic.
An entourage place where everything that can hook a buyer is collected. These are brand-name fakes, various local trifles, and old things. There is something interesting.
A real Oriental very old bazaar. At the same time, they don't stick to you, everything is respectful and you can bargain to the point of insanity. I bought myself real oriental sandals for one finger! I had a lot of fun!
The market is like a market.
The goods are primitive: handkerchiefs, some kind of smoke and smelling sticks (I plugged my nose), gold in chains and large pendants. And what else? And that's it. The rest is the cheapest China: hats, toys at the fixprice level, some souvenirs with a load of time on them.
The market in Marrakech or Deira in Dubai is several orders of magnitude higher.
Chinese consumer goods at crazy prices. Who is behind the incense - bargain, the most expensive is a MAXIMUM of 1 rial / 100 grams. In the UAE, prices for Omani frankincense are almost the same.
