Overall, I liked the new airport terminal. There was noticeably more space and all the procedures went faster. There is nothing particularly outstanding in the new building, but it fully meets modern requirements.
In duty free, there are two prices for many goods - for passengers flying to the countries of the Customs Union, and everyone else. It is more expensive for the Union.
The parking lot in front of the airport was a mess, and it remained so. Maybe they just haven't gotten around to it yet

Also, do not forget to prepare your SIM card for roaming, otherwise you can stay for the first time after arrival without communication, which will not allow you to call Yandex at affordable prices. But the price for them is so high that it would be easier to rent an apartment with all the amenities, even if there was money left for a taxi. The storage room also has space prices, as if you were handing over gold bars there. But the cherry on the cake is the AIR ASTANA company. And so we had a lot of time between transfers on tickets. Visiting the airport is a whole adventure and a lot of discoveries. Despite the high prices for parking (I would even say fabulous), the parking area is a small branch of chaos, "democracy" in action. The ramp to the second floor is especially annoying in icy conditions, and you have to slow down on the rise, as cars stop wherever they have to to disembark passengers. The prices for everything are inflated to the limit. Any passenger's problem is a passenger's problem. No one is responsible for anything. In view of all this, I recommend taking a taxi, but at the time of arrival, it's like a lottery, traffic jams before entry can make significant adjustments. It is better to study the airport's layout in advance, since it takes a long time to find help here, and it's also not a fact that the hint will be correct. It's a bit difficult with airline representatives, the facts will speak for themselves. So you have to rely on Luck here.

A normal, clean airport. I was very pleased with the cleanliness of the toilets, the availability of soap and towels. Everything is new and neat. Navigation is simple, it's hard to get lost. WiFi does not work without a Kazakh SIM card, then it is unclear why it is needed. At the same time, the information desk helped to connect, the staff are responsive.
There is no security at the entrance, I was surprised. However, there is a security check, and you can quickly pass through passport control.

Our flight was delayed for a day, and we were offered hot meals, well, again, as suggested, we went through about five people so that we would then be sent with coupons to eat in this disgusting cafe! There might have been normal food in this cafe, but for people like us there were 3 dishes to choose from - dried manti, roast with uncooked potatoes floating in fat and casserole, which is also impossible to eat! Oh, there was also compote, already sour! In general, not for people, it was impossible to eat it and no one ate it, the waitress went to two tables, collected a bucket full of slop, really no one sees it! Why transfer products! In other cafes, everything is very expensive for money, a bottle of 0.25 water costs 900 tenge! Exchangers throughout the city change the ruble to tenge 1 to 5, at the airport 1 to 4! There is no such thing anywhere else! Let's move on, flights are not announced! Sometimes they can seem to remember and announce a couple of flights during the day, this is the maximum! All the scoreboards at the airport show different information! After lunch at the airport cafe, I was poisoned, so much so that I had to drip, but at the medical center I was offered a cerucal, although I spoke. That it's not enough anymore! And as I did not ask, they did not make an IV,! But in Aktobe, the health workers themselves came up to me and offered to urgently dig me up. There are very few seats at Almaty airport, there are not enough of them! The airport is big, but there is nowhere to sit down! In general, to summarize, this is the worst airport and its staff! In no case do not eat there and do not change money!

Good, but there are few places for those waiting. The halls are good, there is a place to eat and buy souvenirs. On the ground floor there is a budget delicious dining room. The second one has delicious coffee. Clear. There is a mother and child playroom in the international department. Parking is large, but there are not enough places. Sometimes you have to drive a few laps by car until you find a parking space. And in the evening, suspicious people walk around and look into cars.

Working taps, paper 👍As if we were in the future 🥹The rapid passage of passport control overshadows the ever-lagging scanning device and their huge number 🫢(2 pieces). Large space and number of seats. Long waiting for luggage. Good lounges are, it seems to me, the only place that more or less fits the concept of a modern terminal.
