After the renovation, the areas in the internal terminal are used irrationally: a huge hall with check-in counters and a complete lack of seats in the departure lounge after passing the inspection
A spacious, comfortable new terminal, the toilets are clean, everything is automated. But in the hall itself it was even cool, the passengers who were lightly dressed were freezing
The airport is very excellent, the project is beautiful, there are flash drives,on two levels,FOR the price,a budget option, let's say 0.5 water 80-tenge,and the other, the same 450- tenge, similarly other products, draw your own conclusions, but I care about something else,we arrived from Astana,December 16th,2023, in the evening, leaving winter clothes, since we have to fly to Arabia on a charter plane, and you know, you can't go outside, and there's nowhere to rest, even a woman with a child, namaz room, very small to namaz, read, and co-workers,come in,a woman who reads is kicked out in a dead end in the corner, the rest of the time the room is forgotten by migrant workers, we must somehow take this into account, free up the shop, one or two, we have them there, after all, we are a Muslan country, this is our face!!!
It's a good airport and it will be much better after the renovation, but now... due to the very competent parking location, there is constant congestion, the car drives for 20 minutes, although it stands nearby, and this is all in a city where + 30 is commonplace. It is very uncomfortable to leave/come. It's like a crowded market(
Well, you can spend the wait usefully and take a couple of photos!)) I especially liked the police car there)
The new airport has been made, except for the beauty, nothing has changed. Arriving on a night flight, we waited for the luggage for 45 minutes. Moreover, later a colleague received a suitcase on a ribbon intended for arrival from Moscow. Although we arrived from Turkey. And in the same way, everyone else's suitcases came on the wrong tape. A mess, what to say…
A big plus is that it is easy to get to the city by public transport before 23.00
A huge disadvantage for the hub is the lack of WiFi. We were flying from Russia to Kuala Lumpur, we had to fill out an entry form. There is no Kazakh SIM card with the Internet, no Wi-Fi either, a complete ambush. Thank you, the girl at the registration took pity and shared the Internet. But that's not the case, would you agree?
The renovation work is still ongoing (( The toilets in the old building need to be repaired, it's dirty! Well, our people have a careless attitude to the environment, to the cleanliness around us, it's a shame for the country!!! They throw cigarette butts everywhere, it's hard to throw your garbage in the trash can!
Corruption is on every corner. They told us at the reception that there are no free doubles, but they will find them for the money. They found it for 8,500 tenge. And when they saw the 20,000 bill, they immediately changed their shoes and said that they had to pay 19,500 tenge for 2 places. Where the calculation logic is xs. The check, of course, was not given. And at the exit from the airport, the cops are standing and fining those who go out and light up. It is reported that the fine is $ 200. Then they take the passports and offer to negotiate. For $100, these cops let you go. Be careful! Or better yet, avoid this airport, the city, the republic and its representatives.
There is an eternal problem with parking, but they promised to fix everything after the launch of the new terminal. The old terminal is also being reconstructed. The airport has been in need of reconstruction for a long time. Comparing with other cities, it is better only in Astana. If you need a snack, then there is an inexpensive dining room on the ground floor of the right side. There are good staff at the medical center, the pressure was raised - they let me go after making sure that the pressure dropped
Almaty International Airport, the first in Kazakhstan and Central Asia in terms of passenger traffic, is located in the northern part of the city. The airport is located 15 kilometers from the center of Almaty
It's a great airport. The staff will always tell you what, how and where. The building itself is always clean. There are a lot of cafes and shops, the only thing is that the prices are a bit "biting"
We have been there repeatedly, everything is neat, on schedule without unnecessary problems, the staff is friendly and responsive, the only drawback is a bunch of annoying taxi drivers taking 3 prices to the city compared to Yandex taxi
I really liked the airport. The only disadvantage is the lack of souvenir magnets. We went around the entire airport, we wanted to buy magnets, but we never found them.
There are quite convenient terminals with various shops and services. You should beware of local taxi drivers offering their services there. They can rob you like a stick
I am glad that the new terminal, but the architecture, interior, and quality of repair disappointed, I always compare it with Baku, Milan, Istanbul, Dubai and just tears in my eyes
I was pleasantly surprised by the speed and friendliness of the border service 👍🏻
Otherwise, everything is normal 🤷🏻♀️
It was in December 2023...It is too cramped and not very convenient that the check-in desk is the same for all Air Astana flights...I hope that everything is different in the new terminal
Wonderful people work at the Almaty airport (new terminal). Before departure, they forgot their glasses case in the cafe. They were found and returned to us the next day. How friendly and helpful the staff is, I would especially like to thank Altybayeva Zhanara. The customer comes first - thank you for your service and customer focus!
A small airport, confusion, queues, extraneous sounds. In addition, repairs are underway. Bad arrival and departure. Probably, it will be better as soon as the repairs are completed, but now, this is not a very convenient Airport.
There are very few food malls, you can only take food with you, usually you can intercept something in a store or cafe, the acceleration is not very large here, all purchases are in tenge, which is logical. I was sitting on the 1st floor, the waiting room is insanely small for 3 exits, I was waiting for 1C, there was already nowhere to sit down, the toilet smelled very good, which is not good while waiting, sniffing, it was very hot at the airport itself, rather because of the weather at +7C ° in January, I forgive. You will be waiting for passport control, since not all windows worked with me, about 2/3. The road is convenient, as always, it's decent to go to the city, I didn't see parking, we drove right to the entrance, it's the only one, which is a huge plus, and there aren't so many exits, you don't have to worry.
Disappointed ( there is no waiting room, I had to sit in a cafe, it is also only one , you can go through the green corridor only after the boarding is announced (
A beautiful new airport, but parking, what are you thinking about, it's not there or it's not there, for such a megapolis such a miscalculation, maybe this is a personal area for unusual VIP people!
Well, what can I say. The airport building is shaking like a half-dead horse, everything is vibrating, it's about to fall apart. Neither to leave nor to arrive, in terms of taxi entry, it's just a wild field. Whoever made it is right. There's a lot of stress, it's not much use, imho
A separate respect for the dining room on the second floor and the store and pharmacy on the first floor with adequate prices.
This is rare at airports (almost nowhere)
A small convenient airport, there are currency exchangers, a luggage room, a cafe, a very good dining room. The airport's Wi-Fi is connected only to local numbers, but there is an information desk on the ground floor where I got a free Wi-Fi connection)
A small old airport, surprisingly there is no control at the entrance, so you can arrive an hour and a half before departure. The control before landing is very strict, even a couple of coins in your pocket rings.
A quick search, I was surprised that the computer was not even checked as at other airports. Vending machines with coffee only by card, Russian Federation cards are not accepted, you can't buy it for cash either, it's a shame.
excellent spacious airport, no crowds, wonderful business lounge

By the way , smoking on the street can be fined if you go and smoke! A building for international departure is being built at the Airport and the most inconvenient thing is on Fly Arystan Domestic flights! It is clear that the Age of Technology and Innovation, but the residents of Kazakhstan themselves complain that it is inconvenient to check in through the Ticket Machine, if you have hand luggage and a suitcase, then not everyone can print a luggage tag! In general, for those who are not familiar with technology, I GUARANTEE a hassle 😊🥳 Or will you have to pay at the Check-in Desk to get a boarding pass😃 Business or convenience for the people? I can't say, but it's up to you to choose.
You can get there by city buses. The bus stop is a 5-minute walk from the airport. Download the 2gis map and everything will show you how to get there without the Internet. In the departure area, 0.5 liters of water costs 500 tenge. There are only euros in duty free. There is not much space in the departure waiting area, there is no announcement of boarding the plane. There is a dining room on the ground floor to the right of the entrance, tasty and relatively inexpensive. The flight program is very extensive.
Everything is fine, but the windows in the room do not open, it is impossible to ventilate the room. Breakfasts are scarce. The room service and facilities are excellent. The beds are comfortable. The location is good.
Parking is always packed, which is typical for Almaty, the airport itself is clean, the waiting rooms are comfortable, at least for me, there is a place to eat, there is a place to drink coffee, a smoking room, souvenir shops, and the staff itself is adequate.
The airport is normal, nothing special, but on international flights there is no pleasant place to eat.
Parking is disgusting, lots of cars, traffic jams, it's hard to navigate
Nice staff, well helped. By time, we found something to do before departure. Upon arrival, they even calmly went to the control and calmly passed it. Clear. Plenty of parking space. The inspection is high-quality and you can go barefoot.
Arrival is normal, I ordered a taxi to the city via Yandex, payment is only in cash. They took more than 6,000 tenge. By the way, it's important about the exchange! - at the airport, they change according to a Russian passport, and in the city they require an international passport for exchange! I began to look - indeed, such a law was adopted in their Duma.
This is an unpleasant moment during the inspection. We rummaged through all the luggage, searched for something, found an old tape measure and water. They gladly took it away. The muzzles are unpleasant - they didn't like me in some way
The new international undoubtedly surpasses the old hall.
Upon arrival, two lanes for quick passage appeared at passport control, where you can go through by scanning your passport yourself
A spacious airport with a duty free zone, but in my opinion there are not enough places to relax and have a snack in the international terminal (waiting room).
