Prague! My love! I want to go back there again. Walking along the bridge, you plunge into the history of the city. The views are extraordinary, the pedestrian area is large. You can buy various little things for memory, paintings. Of course there are a lot of people, but what to do, everyone wants to admire the scenery!
Be sure to visit this place!
It's a popular place, lots of people, but it doesn't bother. I enjoy walking along the Charles Bridge every time I manage to visit Prague. The figures on the bridge, darkened by time, street musicians, artists, and a diverse audience create an indescribable flavor to this place,
A very beautiful historical bridge! When you walk along the bridge, you can enjoy beautiful views of the Vltava River and Prague itself! You will definitely visit Prague)
There are a lot of tourists all the time, because this is one of the most important attractions of the city, it is interesting to do, a lot of things worthy of attention
Charles Bridge is a symbol of the city, the most famous place and the second stone bridge over the Vltava River. People still enjoy coming here to enjoy its beauty, 30 Baroque statues from the 17th century and listen to the music of street musicians. This bridge is full of legends and mysteries, involved in magic, astrology and mysteries. Interestingly, researchers are still able to uncover its new secrets. Charles Bridge was not the first bridge connecting Prague Castle and the Old Town. The Judithin Bridge was its predecessor, but was almost completely destroyed in 1342 by a flood. Even elements of one of its arches are kept in Prague, in the basement of the church of the Crusader Order with a red star, and occupy a place in the exposition of the Charles Bridge Museum. There was a surge in construction and trade in the Czech Republic, so a new and reliable bridge was needed. King Charles IV commissioned the architect Peter Parlerge, who had already demonstrated his talent in the construction of St. Peter's Cathedral. Vita, develop a project. To determine the date of the start of construction, the court astrologers calculated the numbers and received the combination "1357-9-7-5-31". Therefore, the builders began work on July 9, 1357 at 5:31 a.m. and completed it by 1402. Thanks to the bridge, Prague has become an important position on the trade routes of Europe and has increased its status. Initially, it was simply called the "Stone" and "Prague" Bridge. But it was not until 1870 that it was given a new name. According to a popular legend, the Charles Bridge is especially durable due to the fact that eggs, wine and milk were added to the stone mortar. There were few of these products in Prague, so they were collected all over the kingdom. This is due to a lot of funny legends. For example, residents of the town of Velvar were worried that the eggs would break, and decided to pre-cook them. The citizens of Ugnosht even sent not only milk, but also cheese and cottage cheese. Thus, the Charles Bridge became the only one in the world that used stones, eggs, milk, cheese, cottage cheese and wine for its construction. The Charles Bridge continues to amaze to this day. Researchers have discovered a new mystery: when scuba divers checked the base of the bridge underwater, they found a new layer of compressed moss between gravel and millstones. This moss does not grow underwater, so it was brought from the forests. Perhaps the moss was laid there to evenly distribute the weight of the bridge or just to fill the cracks. Or maybe he was left here for magical reasons. The original appearance of the bridge was preserved until 1648, when the Swedes came to Prague. The bridge was part of the city's defensive line and was partially destroyed during the war. Another terrible destruction occurred in 1890 during a flood that deeply affected the hearts of Prague residents. The repair of the bridge was undertaken by craftsmen from Budapest, although the Czechs were outraged that foreigners decided to restore their bridge. But in the end, the bridge was soon restored. In 1966-75, it underwent major repairs.
The bridge itself and all the views opening from it are incredibly beautiful and unusual!!! Magnificent view of the bridge from the river when sailing along the Vltava River
Charles Bridge is a famous place. It is impossible to be in Prague and not walk through it. A significant tourist location. Atmospheric. Fussy, but impressive. Pedestrian bridge.
Prague is very beautiful! And not only on the Charles Bridge. We were there at Christmas, before the start of the well-known events. We walked around the old town, drank mulled wine and ate pancakes at fairs. Both my son and I liked it. The attitude of the common people was very friendly!
Charles Bridge, as an ancient and beautiful symbol of the city, connecting two old old districts. A place of incredible crowds of tourists, souvenir dealers and artists.
One of the most beautiful bridges in the world that I have seen with my own eyes. I really liked just walking there, looking at all the statues. And just looking at the Vltava River from it is very beautiful. It's a pity that I was in March and because of this it was very cool, I think it would have been warmer, then I would have walked on this bridge for more than an hour.
The impression was slightly blurred by the cool May weather. I did not expect that the beginning of May in our Chernozem region would be warmer than the weather in the Czech Republic. Charles Bridge was familiar to me, only from the location of the shooting and the events of Spider-Man. Given the turbulent Vltava River, it is amazing how it has been preserved in this form and has not been washed away to this day :) There are many sculptures of various figures of the country along the entire length. It's probably interesting to listen to the story with the guides, but I was in the city for work and stupidly stared and took pictures :) It is simply necessary to visit such places with a knowledgeable person who will make an excursion
The iconic place of the city is definitely worth a visit, it offers a beautiful view of Prague.
There are many historical sites on both sides of the bridge, and the entire tourist infrastructure is maximally developed here.
Guided tours are available in English and Russian.
After descending from the bridge, you can visit a sightseeing tour of the bridge from the water, on a pleasure boat, unique views of the bridge open from the water.
It is a very beautiful place and there are a lot of tourists. It's hard to find a moment for a cool photo. There are many cafes nearby and there is a place to walk
The business card of Prague. There are a lot of tourists here at any time of the day, so get ready for the crowd. But everyone is friendly and will be happy to take a picture of you if you ask.
A beautiful bridge. Very authentic and monumental. It is better to walk early in the morning, then there are very few tourists and you can take beautiful photos.
One of the main sights of Prague. A beautiful historical place. I love places like this. But don't let your guard down. On this bridge, I exchanged crowns at a favorable rate, as it seemed to me, but it dug in that these were Bulgarian hilyads (photo attached). I laminated this bill as a keepsake. I lost 10 tons of rubles with this exchange.. 🤣🤣🤣
We were there in December, of course the weather is windy, it's cold near the water. But get dressed warmly and go ahead, the beauty that opens from this bridge is worth it!
Perhaps the most famous and widespread attraction in Prague, which will not be admired even in bad weather due to the incredible number of tourists. An amazing bridge over the Vltava River, built in the late XIV- early XV centuries, connecting Prague Castle and the Old Town. Of course, it is full of all sorts of creepy (and not so creepy) legends that guides like to tell. Naturally, there is a place for rubbing bulges to fulfill desires - a bas-relief under the statue of St. Jan Nepomuksky, especially revered in Prague, and, by the way, killed on the same bridge (and the place where his statue stands) by drowning in a bag.

A strange place — Prague. You get in, and it seems like nothing special. But you don't want to leave, and you always miss it. The sound of trams, history... I love Prague with all my heart. Charles Bridge is also good, the story is amazing.
I walked on this bridge at night, it is very beautiful

I've been there three times, so the opinion is very formed. - The bridge is beautiful for its sculptures, views and street musicians. It is necessary to go, but I recommend going down under the bridge later-local life is much more interesting there, and you will discover a lot of interesting things!
I was on a tour in some dungeons of the Czech Castle-so there were original sculptures from the Charles Bridge. It turns out that the originals were removed for restoration (2017), and they began to collapse from time and weather, and there are copies on the bridge (not all, but most). Like that.
In the non-summer season (spring and autumn are very cold, I'm not even talking about winter) it's very cold and windy on the bridge (blows away) - dress warmly, but there are fewer people. You can't get through at Christmas, and there are plenty of tourists in the summer.
There are bridge structures that are much more impressive. The Charles Bridge is rather an artificially far-fetched monument in an old part of Europe that is constantly being patched up. In Nizhny Novgorod, the bridges are no worse, in Moscow even better, they will be studded with Lenin monuments and tourism will be for you.
Picturesque, with interesting scary and unusual sculptures. It is crowded, with street vendors and entertainers. An extraordinary view of the city, roofs and nature. I liked the wooden water wheel.
Prague... A fantastic city. For my taste, one of the most interesting cities in Europe. Tsvetaeva, who lived here, said Prague "remained in my memory as one blue day and one foggy night." I really liked the Lindner Hotel Prague Castle. On the very top of Mount Petrin, near the beautiful Beer Garden of the Strahov monastery "St. Norbert" (the best beer in Prague). And your journey through Prague's "Gardens of Semiramis" will begin from top to bottom: Hradcany, St. Vitus Cathedral and St. George's Basilica, Malostranskaya Square, Voyanova and Waldstein Gardens, Charles Bridge with Marina's favorite knight - Brunzvik "knight guarding the river". Those who watched "Three X's" with Diesel will remember how he sat on the icebreaker of the bridge and muttered "Bora Bora". Then to the Old Town Square with the famous clock... and then with all stops. By the way, the city is beautiful in winter too! A little bit about politics. I've been to Prague countless times since '68. My mother's sister lives here. In Soviet times, they were a family of teachers and professors who lived 100 m from the Charles Bridge (a huge apartment, what can I say the staff appreciated ...). Restitution came and the apartment was seized, giving out a small two-bedroom apartment in a residential area... ("No need for a violinist"). At one time, I fully felt the attitude towards the "Soviets". There is less of it now. Are you paying money? We love you! In general, I recommend it! Including Tsvetaeva places (easily located on the Internet).
A very unusual Bridge. It's very crowded! Every time of the day, every season, it's always different. The Bridge looks different every time. I really liked and impressed

Charles Bridge, a decent establishment, the kitchen pleased, the service attentive. I'll come back if possible.
The most iconic place in the city
You can even not go anywhere else - just stand and admire the views - Prague Castle, Streletsky island, the Vltava River and the dam on it, and a huge number of swans
, a lot of people - you can look at them endlessly
multilingualism, different races and different cultures
It's like the whole world has come together at a single point
An extraordinarily beautiful place, impresses with its grandeur and solemnity. Passing over the Charles Bridge, as if you get into other times, it seems that in a moment the statues will come to life. Beautiful and creepy.
If you haven't walked along the famous Charles Bridge, then Prague has passed you by. Of course, this is one of the main attractions of the ancient city. You can climb one of the security towers and take stunning photos overlooking the bridge and the Vltava River. And don't forget to lose the statue of a famous saint))
The whole of Prague deserves a lot of attention. You get into a fairy tale, it is very beautiful and interesting to wander around the old city and see a huge number of historical monuments.
A beautiful place in itself , musicians , artists , walks on small boats , next to the cathedral you can listen to organ music , a lot of positive emotions.
