We had a rest from 03.12.24 to 13.12.24 at this hotel. The hotel is clean, cleaned daily. The breakfasts were ordinary, but not varied, and we weren't hungry. Nearby there is a supermarket, shops, restaurants, currency exchange. The most gorgeous thing is the ocean view from the room, which is constantly noisy. The first few days I woke up, I thought it was a hurricane)), then we got used to it, it doesn't bother me to sleep. All rooms have ocean views.
If you take the coastline, then on the right there is a beach with reef sharks, turtles and a place where you can swim without waves, on the left they surf. I liked the swimming beach on Unawatuna more, the water is cleaner.

We had a great vacation in Sri Lanka in April 2025, this is our first experience of traveling to Asia. The country has impressed with its comfortable climate, here you can taste many delicacies at an adequate price, and a lot of fruits. The Citrus Hotel played a significant role in our vacation. We booked a Deluxe Room and stayed on the 4th floor with a magnificent view of the Indian Ocean. The room was spacious, cleaning was carried out regularly, meals were provided by HB - delicious, varied food, juices. The fruits were watermelons, papaya, guava and bananas every day in the morning and evening, delicious desserts, there is a choice of side dishes and hot dishes, I can not say that everything is spicy, you can find it for every taste) The hotel staff are friendly, help with any questions, they love our chocolate Alyonka (note to new guests))) The beach opposite the hotel is not suitable for swimming (dead reef), but there is a public beach near the hotel where you can meet turtles and swim with them. I liked the Garlic cafe in front of the hotel, delicious food, fast service and normal prices, there is no additional cost for service.

The beach is 10 minutes away from the hotel with turtles, no waves, pleasant, clean sand.
We took a deluxe room on the 4th floor, there was a beautiful view of the ocean. The room was cleaned perfectly, towels were changed every day, and the bed linen was changed several times during the 12 days of rest. We took an all-inclusive menu, the buffet was varied, there were always fresh seafood. The bar has excellent drinks (alcoholic, non-alcoholic, cocktails). Another plus of the 1st line is the absence of mosquitoes (though I don't know about the 1st floor), although people complained from hotels in the jungle.

My wife categorically does not eat spicy food, but she always chose something. We had breakfast and dinner, and we didn't regret it, it's the best restaurant in the city, it's always very tasty and varied, dinners were almost never repeated. I recommend soups from a non-spicy one-they are very tasty. There is also porridge for breakfast, very sweet and delicious.
4. A good SPA. It's done by a professional, a girl from Bali.
But there are also many local massages nearby.

I liked the hotel, it was cozy, clean, cleaned every day and well. The only food is not for 5 points. I'm not lowering my rating just because the food is not to my taste, almost all the dishes are adapted to the preferences of the local population, but this did not mar the stay at the hotel. The room is always noisy: the ocean surf is beating on one side, and the street noise is incessant on the other. Opposite the hotel there is a supermarket, a wine shop and in general there are all kinds of souvenir shops, jewelry shops and cafes, restaurants... Despite the fact that the hotel is quite simple, it is cleaned every day, the bed linen is clean, towels are changed every day, but they are all very "tired" (the beach ones are the same). We had everything included, and we didn't regret it, the food was delicious and varied enough, you could always find something suitable for yourself. The local alcohol and beer are also quite tolerable. You need to go swimming 500 meters from the hotel, there is a comfortable approach, gradual depth, sand and clear water, and even large turtles swim.... In front of the waves hotel, it is not possible to swim, but it is very beautiful! There are a lot of sun beds, you can always find a place for yourself, there are large trees, they give shade, it is very comfortable to lie under them and admire the ocean. Overall: The hotel is for unassuming tourists, conveniently located, with great views and quite tolerable food.

We had a rest on 31.08-09.09. In general, the hotel is small — a small area that is divided into an area with a swimming pool and a buffet, and the second is occupied by the coastline with beautiful swings. All rooms have ocean views, crazy beauty, it's a pleasure to wake up with such a view 🌊
The cleaning was of high quality every day, nothing was stolen, at the end of the trip we completely relaxed and left valuables in the lead. The country is poor, be prepared for tips — it's not difficult for you, but it's pleasant for people.
The food itself is spicy, but not all of it. There are several salads, including simply chopped greenberries, a lot of chicken, fish, potatoes, rice, and pasta. We were particularly pleased with the small, very beautiful desserts — we were waiting for dinner almost for them!
The entrance area is through — the visitors have a view of the pool (it's here as if for the sake of the view, they swam there once) and the waves. For a good sandy beach, we walked 500 meters to the right, along the way you can see a crowd of onlookers who came to stare at the turtle (and we did not miss, we also stopped to look!)
Nearby there are cafes where we had lunch and swam right along them (not at Cape turtles, but a little further). It came out on a budget (about 3,000 rupees lunch per person). There are also many souvenir shops and you can surf to Galla on tuktuk (we recommend Raja Surfing with Russian-speaking guys) for an average of 2,500 rupees one way
We traded a lot of places, but we also did not deny ourselves tips if we liked the service. Even despite the collection in restaurants, they still left small change. We were lucky with the weather — until 05.09 it rained 2-3 times a day for 10 minutes, and after that the rains ended and tourists came down: a lot of Europeans and people from nearby countries like India. When there were fewer people, I liked it even more somehow))
We took 300-400 dollars per person with us for 10 days, in general, taking into account that we also spent two days on the tour, went to zero and had a great time.

I can say that with such a room, given that there is a swimming pool and the food is not bad, one of the best. It's cool that turtles crawl out to the beach at night to lay eggs, and there's also a beach on the left where turtles swim in during the day and you can feed them.
The beach at the hotel is very small and not for swimming, if you go further to the left, there will be a very large coastline and you can swim in the calm ocean.

I liked everything, cleaning every day, decent breakfasts. Sometimes we went here for lunch and dinner, everything was fine too. There are many cafes nearby, a supermarket right in front, bus stops. The beach with turtles is a separate delight, we didn't get tired of them in 10 days! I would love to return to this hotel again.

Not a bad hotel for your money. We had a decent room, the whole thing was in working order. We have not seen any insects, although they wrote in the reviews. But we took an improved room. The main claim to cleanliness. I purposely put on my lenses just before going outside, so as not to notice the spots and not spoil my mood.
The hotel is not very fresh, the towels were dirty, but the rooms were cleaned properly every day! The shortcomings in the service were compensated by the magnificent view of the ocean, the sound of the waves immediately calmed down! The guards and waiters coddled our child while we were having fun))) The choice of food for breakfast and dinner is huge, for 7 days I did not get tired, but tired of the abundance of spices) unfortunately, the children there have practically nothing to eat. But personally, my friend and I got high - on New Year's Eve there was an amazing seafood table and a great program with live music and fireworks! There are a lot of Russians in the hotel - 50% probably, and the staff is focused on Russian tourists - even our music was played (sometimes we felt like we were in Turkey or Egypt - it was not a plus for us, because we wanted more local culture)
In general, the hotel can be recommended to inexperienced tourists. The staff there is very good, that's just golden! They love chocolate "Alyonka", as a tip))

As for the hotel itself. We had a standard or whatever it's called, but the simplest one. It was not possible to cross paths in the superior, everything was busy. The room is simple. By the way, it was not possible to find two single beds, or rather there was only one room with a view of the roof of the kitchen. At least I asked for 2 beds when booking.
The refrigerator is working, but weak. A nice bonus is that the air conditioner works even if you leave the room. There is a safe, hairdryer, kettle in the room. They give you an iron if you ask. There is mold on the walls in the shower, but probably with such humidity there is no other way. But the good thing is that the cabin is large and it is quite free not to touch the walls. And even hot water without interruptions and with strong pressure. Also, the hood is working quite normally.
The staff is very cheerful and responsive to requests. From the examples, there was 1 teaspoon in the room, a phone call and after 5 minutes the spoon was already in the room. Well, they also reacted quickly to other requests.
The food is unexpectedly varied and edible. I would say that you will not just sing, but you will find something to your liking. There was always fish, meat, and vegetables for dinner. Yes, everything is peculiar from their products, but edible and there was no sharpness, etc
. There were spicy dishes, but they were located right on separate tables. But with napkins, sadness, but not only in the hotel, then everywhere it was necessary to beg for it. Of course, I praise the food, but on the penultimate day I was poisoned, I don't know what to sin, but I also ate fruits from the market in the dining room (I washed fruits with soap).
There is a supermarket and a liquor store near the hotel. There are ATMs nearby. Union Pay can be removed. Also, the Gazprom card works in most stores (at least in November 24).
What I didn't like much about the hotel. Sunbeds are not wiped after the rain until you ask. And if you ask, they immediately expect a tip. There is absolutely no organization in preparing for the exit of vacationers (wipe, arrange, throw a mattress). Lack of napkins both in the room and in the dining room, lack of water in direct access in the dining room.

I am writing a review for those who, like me, carefully re-read them when choosing a place to stay)) I don't like the impression of a vacation to be spoiled by some unpleasant little things, so I try to choose the best place to relax. I give citrus a solid 5, but with a minus, I'll explain:
The location is great - the first line, you fall asleep and wake up to the sound of waves, just 5-7 minutes to the city beach and turtle beach, if you go to the right. Along the way, you can see moray eels, sharks, hedgehogs, herons, various fish, and so on in the reefs. If you go left, then after walking for 10-15 minutes, you will get to the surf beach.
I took the food for breakfast - it was cool, delicious, there was enough of everything, there was enough variety, they give bottled water every day
Cleaning every day, I even refused, I don't get dirty so much))
The staff was friendly and helpful, they understood my half-Russian and half-English, and they helped me with my favorite question right there
My room was nice, Superior, with a view of the pool, cafe and ocean, with a balcony. The only thing is that the elastic band of the shower door did not fit snugly in two places, so a puddle would periodically flow after bathing, but I just ignored this fact, it leaked over time, for this minus, but not at all critical.
The territory is small, but there were always enough sun beds during the day to rest, wait out the heat, plus regular guests in the form of monitor lizards, geckos, palm squirrels and all sorts of birds (and flying foxes?) they didn't let me get bored))
The hotel overlooks the main street, shops, restaurants are all nearby. There are also buses, I went for a walk several times in Galle and to the outskirts of Hikkaduwa on them.

We stayed at the hotel in January 2024, we were very satisfied with the comfort and quality of service. The hotel is very clean, cozy with an incredibly beautiful and convenient location. To the left of the hotel there is a beach with waves, but this season they are very soft and pleasant, you can swim, to the right there is a beach where huge turtles swim, a real entertainment for tourists, they are fed, stroked, photographed. There are a lot of different restaurants near the hotel where you can eat, but we had everything included, so we were very satisfied with the cuisine and drinks. Large monitor lizards often enter the hotel, chipmunks jump through the trees, various birds fly, which enhances the overall flavor of the holiday. The first: It's impossible to get enough sleep because of the constant bus signals, because the hotel is located on one side of the ocean and on the other side of the road. The second disadvantage is that it is impossible to swim at the hotel, it is exactly a kilometer to a good beach!!! If you only like to swim in the pool, then it will probably do. But the best thing about this hotel is the ocean view... All rooms have a view of it, we were on the 4th floor and the sunset view will forever remain in my heart..
The breakfasts are mediocre, there is little meat (only 2 types of sausages), but a lot of fruit. The restaurant at the hotel is not bad, when it was a break to go somewhere, we ate in it and it was not bad.

The hotels have good rooms, good breakfasts (fruits, cheese, omelette, rice, rolls, natural coffee) you will not be hungry. They are very fond of Alyonka chocolate, I have not seen this anywhere. It's a pity that I didn't buy enough chocolate))The bar has alcohol and live music in the evenings. The location is gorgeous. There is a large supermarket opposite the hotel, and there are souvenirs, food, tea, and of course alcohol. Everyone buys red rum from bananas. You can take 3 liters per person home. Cafes, shops, massage parlors, everything is nearby. You can eat and drink from 800 to 1500 rubles per person. It is better to change money at the airport. Everything is 20% cheaper than in Thailand. Be sure to take an excursion to the mountains, it costs $ 150 from the tour operator. I liked it very much. People are very kind and helpful. They love us very much and are waiting for us. Hello everyone. We rested with my wife at this hotel in October 2023. The hotel is located on the first line, great view. We checked in within an hour and were given a room on the third floor with an ocean view. We took breakfasts and dinners, went to local cafes for lunch. Service for 4 points, room cleaning was done every other day, with a change of bed linen. The room has a refrigerator, air conditioning, safe, kettle: also free tea, coffee, cream, two bottles of water 0.5 each. The staff is responsive (there is a knowledge of Russian). In the evenings, the music program, karaoke, the performance of local musical groups, the locals held a wedding in our hotel was very colorful and noisy. I recommend a great hotel!!!

The location is great! 3 meters from the ocean. There are beaches nearby where you can swim, because it is not possible to do this anywhere. There is a swimming pool, a restaurant, and a view from the windows.

Yes, he is elderly, but in a good place with good (friendly) staff and not a bad kitchen. They cleaned it every day. If something was missing, it was worth saying and it appeared. Nice beach nearby. The exchanger in front of the hotel (this is important) in Hikaduwa there are few of them. Good excursions at a reasonable price (we had it like this) I think everyone has different ways. The weather is great, although not in season (we were in July). There are a lot of fruits, although it is not close to the market, you need to go to the Gala. Like it. We plan to return to Hikaduwa.

A clean, cozy hotel, on the ocean, the staff is friendly, helpful. The room was cleaned every day. The territory of the hotel is small.In the courtyard there is a swimming pool with an ocean view, sun beds, towels are provided for them.
The food is varied, meat, seafood, potatoes, rice, fish almost every day.
In the evenings, live music was played, the DJ played one evening, there was karaoke.
The only downside is that I had to go to the beach to swim, as there is a dead reef and strong waves in front of the hotel.

As for the hotel, it's a good four. About the beautiful: the staff is responsive and friendly, the rooms are clean and spacious, all are located with windows to the ocean, which, I must say, is not quiet, but you quickly and happily get used to this noise, the territory is small, but green and gentrified with wildlife from monitor lizards to cats, there is an improvised bar with a view and sound of the ocean, swings with the same "amenities", outdoor showers near the always clean pool. There have always been sturdy wooden sun beds with mattresses and beach towels. Right opposite the exit of the hotel is a very pleasant supermarket with government prices and price tags, where you can buy both groceries and household goods, there is also an alcohol market. There are plenty of cafes around the hotel with fine seafood and delicious rum.
Now about the incessant: the hotel has no entrance to the ocean, the coast is a dead coral with moray eels and sea urchins. The latter are certainly interesting, but you can't buy into them. A calm lagoon is located if you stand facing the ocean, on the right in 7 minutes walk, you can walk both along the coast (with small obstacles) and along the street (then go to the left). A very beautiful beach with wonderful waves is located on the opposite side, about 10 minutes walk down the street. There is not a single pebble in the water, but the waves are serious, however, they are beautiful). The breakfasts for me were wonderful, there was a local frankly insular food - chicken, fish, beans, always fried eggs, fruits, vegetables, rolls, bread (the tea and coffee table is located just below the main restaurant), but for those who like to eat meat in the morning without Lankan spices - alas.

We chose a hotel based on the availability of a dive center (I am certified). Diving prices are affordable!A great place to get diving skills in closed and open water. Russian-speaking course-Director Dimas is a sociable pro.
The diving coast is a bit poor, but there is a place to climb: a couple of rakes and grottoes, stone jungles, etc.))
