It is located on top of a cliff with stunning views of the white city of Lindos, Rhodes Island, the sea and the heart-shaped bay. The temple and the staircase are perfectly preserved. The entrance is paid, the ascent to the Acropolis is rather slippery (it is especially difficult to descend them later, tourists walk slowly)
A great place for a photo session with a view of 2 bays. one with snow-white sand, the other in the form of a heart with a rocky bottom. The museum is magnificent, there are signs with information (English), we were on our own without a group, we went up to the museum on donkeys, the children were delighted. Children under 14 do not pay for tickets
Lindos is a city with a history of 3 thousand years. Actually, the acropolis is located here. The walls of the knight's castle and the ruins of an early Christian church also rise above the city. It is best to go to Lindos in the morning or late in the evening, with a good supply of water. It is difficult to hide from the strong sun in the ancient city. So it's worth hedging your bets.
To see all the sights of the city, this bizarre mix of eras, you need to walk from the gates of Lindos to its top point. This is a long way, which, by the way, can be overcome on a donkey. The same road leading to the acropolis is very beautiful. On the way there are stone fountains that are still filled with water, white houses with courtyards and taverns where you can try something delicious Greek.
A great view of the city opens from the top of Lindos. You can stand here for hours, looking at the sights. St. Peter's Bay is on the horizon. Below you are three thousand years of history with an acropolis, a church and a castle.
The Acropolis, the second largest after Athens, is known for the ruins of the ancient temple of Apollo Pythias (2nd century BC), the marble amphitheater of oratory and the Pythian Stadium, where the ancient games in honor of Apollo were held.
The Acropolis of Athena Linda stands in the fortress of Lindos. For lovers of antiquity and atmospheric places, that's the thing) There is a beautiful view of the bay and the town itself from above.
Admission costs 12 euros.
Very cool. The Acropolis, which is located in Lindos, is awesome and St. Paul's Bay is just a fairy tale. I advise everyone to visit there, and I also advise everyone to visit the confluence of two seas or the kiss of two seas is the Aegean and the Mediterranean on the island of Prasonisi. Incredibly beautiful. I advise everyone to go there. 👍👍👍
The Acropolis of Lindos on the Greek island of Rhodes rises among impressive cliffs that abruptly drop off to the sea, forming many idyllic coves. It is the second most important after the Acropolis in Athens. The myth says that the founder of the city was Lind, the grandson of the God Helios. In the VIII-VI centuries BC it was an important trading city and seaport. During the heyday of the city, the ruler was Cleobulus, one of the seven sages of antiquity. Construction work was carried out, money of the Phoenician type was issued, and the temple of Athena Lindia was rebuilt. The heyday of Linda gradually stops with the foundation of the city of Rhodes. During the reign of the Knights, the acropolis received fortifications. During the reign of the Knights, there was a center of judicial power here. The entrance to the territory of the acropolis is through an open space in the medieval wall by steps built in the time of the Knights. The height is 115 meters. An interesting historical place to visit.
The view of the "city of captains" is amazing. The acropolis itself is at such a height that walking in summer is not a test for everyone.

The acropolis is well preserved, while we can see the intertwining of times with the help of buildings. Buildings from the ancient period have been found here, and the walls of a medieval fortress rise.
The Acropolis of Lindos is considered the second most important in Greece, the first, of course, is located in Athens. There is a myth about the goddess Athena Linda, who saved Lindos from the enemy. Persian Darius really wanted to conquer Lindos, as the city had a great strategic influence in the Mediterranean. But the inhabitants hid in the Acropolis and waited for Darius to retreat. He understood that he would not be able to attack the Acropolis because of its inaccessibility, and most of the troops could die by falling off the cliffs. He decided to wait, thinking the Greeks would die of thirst and the inability to get fresh water. However, Athena Linda appeared to one of the Greeks and said that she would not offend the inhabitants of Lindos. Darius laughed at these words, however, the very next day incessant rains began, and those who hid were able to get water for themselves. Darius was afraid of the goddess and retreated.
Unfortunately, now there are only a few columns left, however, scientists suggest that there was a statue of the goddess Athena Linda in the center, but either looters or time has left us no chance to find out if this was really the case. The views from the Acropolis are magnificent!

A wonderful place! I really liked both the acropolis and the city of Lindos itself!
The guide scared us that it would take a long time to get to him, but in fact everything is not so scary. You can also ride a donkey. On the way up and from the mountain, you can admire the views of Lindos itself - the white pride - and the picturesque surrounding coves. And from the acropolis itself, which, unlike the Rhodes one, has much more, wonderful views open in all directions.
