It's a very atmospheric place, and you get a special thrill from the fact that these walls are many, many years old, that people walked there a long time ago, and that you kind of feel their presence. And what views open from above! 😍 Thanks to the male caretaker for letting us get up in the evening, when he was supposed to close the tower and leave, otherwise it would have been a shame to make such a journey-climbing, and we had to go home after 2 days, and other interesting things were planned for these 2 days.

It is very interesting to touch antiquity, to feel the energy. There is a small prayer room inside the fortress, under the open sky, there are a lot of different icons, it is so sincere, you even feel different there, not like in the current churches.. Beautiful views from above. But it's a long walk, climbing up a rocky road with the roots of ancient trees sticking out, and wear comfortable shoes.

The fortress of Anakopia is in the process of restoration. A very atmospheric historical place with beautiful views from the tower. The hike is gentle but long, about 40 minutes at a slow pace. It's quite hot on sunny summer days. There is an ancient temple and an inexhaustible well with delicious water at the top of the mountain in the fortress. The tower has been restored, and there is a good staircase inside to the observation deck. You can order a guide at the ticket counter below, which makes climbing interesting and easy.
