The first time I was in Cuba, I didn't regret choosing a hotel, although according to reviews I expected the worst)) The location of the hotel is excellent, 10-15 minutes walk to Varadero, this is a huge plus! The room stock in the main building (standard) is, of course, shabby, the plumbing is too, BUT the rooms are large, the beds are comfortable, there were no animals in the room. They say the module room has been renovated, but I haven't personally looked at it, but it looks like the building has been repaired. The castle is an interesting building, the territory is not large, but you can walk)) The cleaning is mediocre, but every day! If you leave a present, they will wind up swans and tidy up a little better)) The bed linen was changed every 4-5 days! 1.5 liters of water was left every day. The staff is friendly, everyone is smiling)) Beach towels are provided without any problems. On my arrival, the food was fine (for Cuba!) Seasonal fruits, chicken, beef, fish every day! Ice cream is also served every day for dinner, there was trouble with desserts, either they don't know how to cook them, or they don't want to))) Delicious cocktails, beer and wine! The beach is great, the ocean is gorgeous, there are always free sun beds, a boy walks around from 10.00 and offers to bring drinks! Take thermos cups, they are very much needed there! There is both daytime (simple) and evening animation, but I usually did not live to see the evening))) I liked everything, if I ever go to Cuba again, I'll choose the same hotel!

We had a vacation in December 2025. In terms of price/quality ratio, it's not a bad hotel for Cuba. Excellent location relative to the beach spit and the city center (20 min. walk). It's such a multi-tiered hotel with plants inside, there's something homey about it. The rooms are dead (built in 1997), but this is not the main problem, even minor repairs that do not require financial investments are not being done. There is plenty of food and variety, but the service is poorly organized. We don't eat cold pasta, pies without hot tea, tasteless watermelon, burgers and hot dogs with cold filling inside, etc. etc. Cockroaches don't add to your appetite. There are various performances every evening, and the woman who organizes them is rooting for her cause. The hotel staff is mostly friendly and generally Cubans treat Russians well, including Canadians, who may be the majority here, which is not a little important at the moment. Of the cash, only dollars are valued. One dollar is equal in value to one euro. There is no point in exchanging dollars for pesos; in restaurants and shops, payments are made in dollars. You can pay with a Mir card, and the payment will be made in rubles at the current exchange rate. Cuba is so bright, joyful and positive.

I drove without expectations, that makes it easier for me) The room is like in a children's camp, everything is decent, but without frills. There was no hot water for 5 days, but after contacting the tour operator, it immediately appeared. There are cockroaches, but probably like everywhere else in Cuba, he killed one in his room and never saw it again. Rum flows like a river, you can agree on something everywhere, and the black market is blooming and smelling. Don't take the euro, as they say everywhere, the euro is not in high esteem in Cuba, in Varadero, in Havana, they won't accept it everywhere, but the dollar is everywhere. It is better to take a more expensive mosquito repellent, otherwise it will not help) There are not many people on the beach, there is entertainment. I'm happy with my vacation.
