Initially, the Chernobyl nuclear power plant was named the Lenin Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant, but after the disaster, the mention of the leader was removed from the name. However, in 2021, it was reported that the People's Artist of Ukraine Anatoly Gaidamaka, the author of the project of the memorial complex "Wormwood Star" in Chernobyl, proposed to move to the Chernobyl nuclear power plant monuments to Vladimir Lenin, which were demolished in Ukraine as part of the policy of decommunization. Gaidamaka believed that the monuments could be used to create a Soviet-style tourist alley and organize a "Lenin station." They were demolished and are not planning to rebuild.
