I visited Tsminda Sameba in Tbilisi. The temple itself is impressive in scale, but the main thing is the feeling of silence and air inside. It's a huge space, the light falls softly on the walls, and it makes you want to stop talking and just watch. And in the evening, the temple is transformed. When the lights are turned on, he seems to hover over the city. The golden light highlights every detail and can be seen from almost anywhere in Tbilisi. I looked from below, and it seemed that the temple stood not on a hill, but on some kind of pedestal above the whole city. It's very beautiful and a little solemn.

However, one should not forget that the territory of the Temple was partially erected on the territory of the old Armenian cemetery of Khojivank of the 17th century, which "was scandalously disrespected." So, when digging a foundation pit, human remains were uncovered in old graves. The remains found were not reburied. The builders treated them, as well as the remains of destroyed tombstones and monuments, without due respect.

It was built in 1995-2004 by architect Archil Mindiashvili. It is the largest cathedral in Georgia. We really liked this cathedral. It has a large and well-maintained territory. But despite this, it is always quiet and peaceful here. Since the cathedral was not far from our hotel (it can be seen from the terrace), we came several times just to sit on a bench without going inside and enjoy the atmosphere. On the territory of the cathedral there is a pond with geese, as well as aviaries with chickens and many beautiful flowers.

It is located in Tbilisi, on the hill of St. Elijah (the left bank of the Kura), on the site of the monastery of Khodji-Vank of the XVII century. There are 10 thrones in the cathedral. The lower church is dedicated to the Annunciation of the Blessed Virgin Mary. When I come to Sameba, I take my time to go inside. I'm walking around the temple grounds. Slowly and charmingly. Of course, I've shown you photos and videos of Samoeba more than once, but /I think, if memory serves me right/ that I haven't told you yet how once / and once/ I found myself not just inside, but below. It turns out that the lower church is located under the common hall. And also, there's an Orthodox institute down there. Personally, this fact shocked me when I saw it. And I even remember those feelings from the very process of going down the stairs. Like some kind of secret, a mystery that is accessible only to me. And I am exceptional, to whom God opened his doors not only from the main entrance.
