The Tskhemvan Bridge is an ancient arch bridge located in the gorge of the Kintrishi River. It is an architectural monument of the IX–X centuries, which harmoniously fits into the natural landscape. The length is about 20 meters. The width is 2.55 meters. An arched bridge built from wild stone collected from the river banks. The arch is made of hewn stones. The right side of the bridge is supported by an artificial mouth, the left by a natural rock. This design gives the building a special stability. According to legend, the bridge was built by order of Queen Tamara so that neither the river nor time could destroy it. In 2012, restoration work was carried out, namely: the seams between the stones, formed due to the wind, were filled with lime mortar.; the pedestrian part was completed with new stones. The bridge is located in the Kintrishi National Park, a protected natural area in Adjara. The park is known not only for its picturesque landscapes, but also for historical sites, including ruins of temples, churches and other ancient structures. The Tskhemvan Bridge is one of several ancient arch bridges in the Kintrishi National Park. Other similar structures include the Kobalauri and Chkemovani bridges, built in the 11th–12th centuries. It is open to the public year-round and free of charge.
