A very decent alternative to the advertised cisterns in the center . It's huge, 2 storeys high. I visited this cistern a couple of days ago at about 11 a.m. There were no tourists except me. Yes, there is only illumination, no laser show, but that's not why we go to ancient buildings.... The entry price is 400 lire. At the same time, you can see the former monastery of Pantoko, 12th century, naturally converted into a mosque. There is a great viewing platform for 3 bridges from the cafe nearby.

A very unusual tank museum. We came on Tuesday - free admission. The cistern is small, lighted, well maintained. There is a very interesting hammam museum and an active hammam nearby. There weren't many people, but the place was definitely worth a visit.

Zeyrek Sarnıcı (Zeyrek Sarnıcı) is a significant Byzantine underground cistern located in Istanbul's Zeyrek district, very close to the famous Zeyrek Mosque (which was originally the monastery of Christ Pantokrator). Here are the basic facts about her: 1. Name: Zeyrek Sarnıcı (Zeyrek Cistern). Sometimes it is also called Pantokrator Cistern (Pantokrator Cistern) because of its connection with the nearby monastery. 2. Construction period: The Byzantine period. It was probably built to provide water to the Pantokrator Monastery, which was founded in the 12th century by Empress Irina. 3. Description: It is an impressive underground structure supported by numerous columns and covered with vaulted ceilings. It is an excellent example of Byzantine hydroengineering and architecture. Although it is not as famous as the Basilica Cistern (Yerebatan Sarnıcı) or Theodosius Cistern (Şerefiye Sarnıcı), it has great historical and architectural significance. 4. Location: Located in the historic district of Zeyrek, which is part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site "Historic Districts of Istanbul". It is located southwest of the Zeyrek Mosque. 5. Significance: Its importance lies in the fact that it is an integral part of the Byzantine urban infrastructure and is closely linked to the Pantokrator Monastery, which itself is one of the best preserved examples of Byzantine architecture in Istanbul.
