Borisov shopping malls appeared in 1908, when the city was actively developing as a trade and merchant center. Initially, the architectural complex included four buildings, which housed a total of 112 shops. There was a lively trade in various goods, and the rows themselves occupied an important place in the economic and social life of the city. Neoclassical features can be traced in the architectural appearance of the buildings. The buildings were characterized by laconic forms, symmetrical facades, arched openings of windows and doors, as well as decorative details in the upper part of the walls. The architectural solution emphasized the solidity of the structures and corresponded to the purpose of the shopping complex. The nearby old town square has traditionally served as a place for fairs, where merchants and buyers from the surrounding settlements gathered. Throughout the 20th century, the shopping malls were repeatedly tested: they survived military events, fires and changes in urban development. Of the four original buildings, only one building has been preserved. Nevertheless, it has not lost its practical significance and continues to be used for trading. Today, shops operate in its premises, which makes the historic building still a part of the daily life of the city.
