We had a rest in April 2026. 1. The city of Bentota is not far away, there are bus stops, a train station nearby, and you can catch a tuk-tuk. Due to the location, there may be few Russian tourists in the hotel, or even few vacationers in general. And there may be a lot of Sri Lankans and Indians. 2. Cleaning was a bit lame in some places. There was hair on the floor. The switches are not wiped everywhere. But it's generally clean. The bed linen and towel are stain-free, and there is no unpleasant odor. 3. Beach: the waves are high here and I do not recommend swimming alone or without experience. But if you swim a little further, it will be really cool. But be careful, it can be demolished or it will be difficult to return to the shore. The beach is well maintained, it is clean. To lie on the beds, you can take towels from the room. But if you want a safe beach, then it's nearby and it's ideal to surf there. Dial Chami villa Surf school or Ventura Beach. Swim only away from surfers. 4. There are nuances with food. If there are many guests, there will be a buffet. The food is different, +/- oriented towards Europeans. There is sharp, there is not sharp. If there are few tourists, then a choice of dishes will be offered for dinner. And it's always delicious and satisfying, and even better than a buffet. Fruits fall at every meal. Papayas are the most. There's going to be trouble with breakfast. Bread, a roll, 1 dessert and an egg dish (omelet/scramble, etc.) and its filling. They will also bring thin slices of cheese and ham with vegetables to the table. But also at the end, fruits for everyone. For drinks. This is generally a problem. There are juices for breakfast, a small variety and not always tasty. For dinner, tea/coffee / water. But you can order a drink from the menu for a fee. They're delicious. I would like to highlight fish dishes separately, they are always amazingly delicious, bones are extremely rare. But with meat dishes, if you're lucky. So I would recommend the hotel if you are not too picky about food (we were 4 people, everyone had different food preferences and no one stayed hungry), if you do not need a party with booze and Russian songs at night, you are not too picky about cleanliness. They also take you on excursions from here. There are cool souvenirs in Bentota.

Good afternoon. We rested at the Temple Tree resort and spa from December 8 to December 18, 2024. A good hotel, a great place for introverts and people who just want to take a break from people and the hustle and bustle) . Now for the points: The room is good, not great and not perfect, but the price is appropriate, you need to understand this, plus do not forget that this is Asia). The room has a nice bed with a comfortable mattress, a mini-refrigerator, air conditioning - old, but working. TV (not used). Working WiFi. There was a fan hanging over the bed, we only turned it on. Kettle, glasses, cups and saucers, tea/ coffee / sugar / 2 bottles of water, which were replenished every day during cleaning. A wardrobe with 2 hangers and a safe. The bathroom is combined with a shower stall with a rain shower, the water was always hot. There is no hair dryer, no toothbrush/toothpaste, and no slippers. There was a balcony with two armchairs, a small dryer, 2 wide beach towels and a pair of swimsuits could easily fit on it. Beach towels were in the room, very comfortable. Cleaning was carried out every day, shower towels were changed daily, the supply of shower gel, shampoo, toilet paper was replenished. The furniture itself is wooden, yes, with chips, the closet creaked when opened, the curtains need dry cleaning, but for us these are small things. Meal. We had half board, i.e. breakfast and dinner included, without alcohol. European and Lankan/Indian cuisine is presented. Buffet-style meals. Breakfast: different variations of egg dishes (boiled soft-boiled, scramble, poached+ an omelet was cooked under the knife when you were there), chicken sausages and bacon, pancakes, pancakes, cereals, plus local cuisine (for me it was too spicy, immediately passed by). Fruits: guava, mini bananas, papaya, pineapple, watermelon. Very tasty. Salads with fresh vegetables, ice cream, coffee/tea, desserts (not bad) . Dinner: chicken, shrimp in some sauce, beef (tough), squid, fish, rice, pasta, pasta, soup, and again, Indian and local cuisine. Salads, fruits. Desserts were often prepared from under the knife - fried banana in batter with ice cream or fried pineapple in batter). Shrimps in batter were also cooked. And for 1 day we cooked barbecue from different types of meat. You will definitely not stay hungry. Alcohol, as I wrote, was not included in our meals, but there are 2 bars next to the kitchen, if desired, you can order alcohol there (I saw that people were brought wine, cocktails, beer).I can't figure out the prices, we bought local rum and sprite, and made cocktails in the evenings on our own. Beach area: clean, the guys cleaned daily. The sand is clean, fine and very sticky. Sun beds (there are a lot of them, there will be enough for everyone), were located under palm trees, very convenient. People were lying at a distance from each other, there was a lot of space, a thrill for lovers of solitude and silence. You definitely won't lie side by side with other people, even during peak season. There is always a place for shade, if desired, you can pull out a sunbed and sunbathe. The ocean itself: warm, beautiful, but there have always been waves. The red flag hung throughout our vacation. It is difficult to swim, for a couple of days we did not go into the ocean at all, only wet our feet, because the waves were too strong. This needs to be taken into account. We need to swim carefully, we got used to it after a couple of days, swam between the waves, and during the waves we jumped and dived so as not to be washed ashore. There were 2 swimming pools for comfortable swimming - clean, warm. Animation:in the usual sense, it does not exist (and thank God). During the dinner, a saxophonist/ a local musician played guitar / dancers performed. It's all on different days). For lunch, we went to the Induruwa Beach Club restaurant, a 2-minute walk along the beach. Delicious, but expensive. We went to the neighboring Bentota by tuk-tuk for rum, because there is nothing in Induruva itself. There are tuk-tukers in front of the hotel, I advise you to download the pick me app, it's something like our Uber or Yandex.go, so that you can understand how much a trip to a particular place costs. We haggled, drove a little more expensive than the application showed, but also did not overpay 2 prices) agree on the price in advance, before we got into the tuk-tuk. That's about it. Summarizing the above, it is a great place for introverts, without movement, for a relaxing holiday. Drive with a good mood, and don't focus on the little things, and the rest will be great)

This was my fourth hotel in Sri Lanka, so there is something to compare it with. I really didn't like the service, the tasteless food, the narrow beach, the waves are bigger than other hotels in the Bentota area, and the rooms are two times smaller. If you want to return to other hotels, then this one is for nothing. The prices on the restaurant menu and in bars are greatly inflated, fans are not turned on for breakfast and dinner, so it's stuffy and simply impossible to eat, and the water that is updated daily in the room is brought in open bottles, poured from nowhere. In no country in the world, in no hotel, except for this, have I ever seen a beach towel given out alone for the entire period of stay, it's all covered in sand and does not dry out after a day, there is no music at all.
