Very easy crossing from Armenia into Georgia. Especially easy , Armenian side. Georgian side firmer, but fair. No probs. Very quickly done within 20 minutes

Of all the border crossings, this one is probably the strangest and most inconvenient. Cars are checked twice, and passports too – first at the border itself, and then again after you’ve passed through. It feels like one officer doesn’t trust the other. What’s especially frustrating is that the strict inspections seem to target ordinary people – families traveling with children and luggage. Meanwhile, those they “know” are often waved through without a glance, perhaps so they can smuggle whatever they like without obstacles. Often, everything depends on the mood of a particular inspector: if they don’t like you, prepare for a long and extremely unpleasant procedure. The organization of the process leaves much to be desired. In winter, at −35°C, you’re forced to step out of your car just to hand over your documents while they inspect the vehicle. If one of them suddenly decides to check your luggage, you have to unload all your belongings from the trunk and carry them by hand into the building for inspection – and nobody cares whether you’re traveling with small children or elderly relatives. Summer isn’t any better: scorching heat, long queues, and the same exhausting requirements. Comfort and respect for travelers clearly aren’t a priority here. They could at least take a lesson from the Georgians on how a border crossing should be organized and run. What we have here is chaos – and that’s putting it mildly.
