We recently had a family vacation at this hotel. I really liked the family duplex room, spacious and clean. The hotel itself is new, with a large terrace offering excellent views of the mountains and Trinity Church. The hotel staff is very friendly and helpful. We would like to express our special gratitude to the receptionist, on the day of our departure, the roads were closed due to snow and we were allowed to stay in the room longer than the prescribed time - it was very pleasant! The restaurant in the hotel is excellent, the dishes are delicious, the prices are the same as in other places.

In my opinion, a good location: a little away from the center, on the mountain, there is no noise from restaurants at night, there is a place to park the car. The conditional center is about 10 minutes on foot max. The hotel calls it parking, in fact - a small piece of land in front of the entrance, where everyone randomly parks. There is a children's pool. The hotel is declared 4 stars. But they were overreacting, of course. The service is weak, especially cleaning. The safe was just sitting in the closet, not bolted down. We didn't use it. The next day, he was silently taken away! 🤷‍♀️ There is no air conditioning in the hotel. We lived in a three-bed duplex room. The third floor is an attic., only a frosted window. The room is stuffy, the window was left open - it rained on all the things on the table. On the ground floor there is an exit to a tiny garden, which is close (literally) to the windows of the neighboring hotel and at night the bright lights on the fence dazzle, you can't sit in the garden in the evening! In the shower, water pours in all directions, the drain is made so that the water flows throughout the bathroom, just not into the drain! The restaurant was not used. But, despite all the shortcomings, you can stay for 1-2 nights. If they learn the service, it will be a great hotel. The place of Kazbegi itself is wonderful. Now it's called Stepantsminda. The beauty is incredible. There are living mountains, there is something to see around. Air - you can drink it in large gulps. When heading to this area, you need to be prepared for the fact that, in fact, this is a village. With all the charms. The roads are too bad, cows and horses are freely grazing, and you can get into cowshares when walking. Lighting at night is almost invisible. But still, it's worth a visit!

The price relative to the quality is excessively high, they take advantage of the fact that this is the first village from the border of Russia and many stop for one night for overnight accommodation. The food is buffet breakfast, everything is delicious. Parking is not equipped near the hotel, there are not enough places for everyone. The staff is young, not everyone understands Russian, but they answer only in English (Europe)

There is no view from the window, only the neighboring house. He does not understand English at the reception, but the NATO flag is present. In the morning, we couldn't find the staff, put the key down and went to look for a place to have breakfast. When we checked in, there was a taxi driver in the lobby who immediately began to sell a ride on a licensed bus to Trinity Church. They say you can't drive in your own car, don't drive through it, just through it. It's a lie - the next morning we drove quietly, took a walk. In general, I do not recommend the hotel.

Now in order. We drove into a dusty, dirty room with lots of sand and hair. There was a mop in the shower room for some reason. Without thinking twice, in order not to wait for cleaning, I decided to use this mop to remove dirt in those places that caught my eye first. I cleaned up and went up the stairs to the second floor, saw a bunch of hair again and called the reception with a request to clean the room. The receptionist came with a heavyset aunt who spoke exclusively Georgian and was ready to literally spit in our face (her raised tone and gestures gave her away) As a result, after showing them the dirty places, we were reluctantly told that the room would be cleaned. In order not to wait, we went to their incredible empty restaurant. Since we were hungry from the trip, we missed the dusty plates (we just replaced them ourselves by taking clean ones from the next table), lack of interest from the waiter (we literally took the menu ourselves, sat down at the table and, having decided on the choice of positions, went to the bar to place an order) , We took two hot dishes of chicken and pork, vegetable salad, beer and khinkali, they turned out to be purchased, factory-made, but passable compared to other dishes Of course, the hot dishes were the last to be taken out (attention, the price for a hot dish is around 30 lari, when in restaurants in Tbilisi we gave around 18-20 and it was divine) Both items were stale, they were cooked a day ago, if not two or three and heated in the microwave. There was a tightly wrapped crust, the meat was impossible to cut, we tried literally in small pieces and called the waiter. They said we wouldn't pay for them. We'll only pay for what we ate. He called the receptionist and that's when the fun started. No one in this hotel had ever spoken Russian before, but there is a feeling that they understood) So a rabid woman flies in (I'm not kidding, she was really wild, I think her name was Ani) and starts yelling: "WHAT ARE YOU ALL NOT LIKE, YOU JUST STOPPED BY! I personally cleaned your room and it's clean, I'm the owner, I'll refund all your money now and look for another place. You won't even find it better in the Room!!!" We tried to explain to her that we were not in the mood to swear. I started showing photos of dust and hair after my quick mop cleaning. She was surprised where the mop came from in the room, showing with all her appearance that we were lying) This woman drank a lot of blood, and at some point I started yelling at her myself, because I can't stand the raised tone and rudeness. As a result, my man was able to talk to her and she relented, letting us live in this wonderful place and not charging us for two meals. We returned to the room, and by the way, it was cleaned, went up to the second floor to turn on the light and look at the bathroom (we hadn't entered it before, we were running and running) and found shit in the toilet. That's the kind of cleaning in this 4-star hotel. Although maybe the owner herself decided to throw a surprise after our "dissatisfaction with everything", it will remain a mystery. The mood after all this was very spoiled And we would have moved out of this hotel if it wasn't already evening, our fatigue after the tour and two huge suitcases. Therefore, if you are thinking about staying at Step Inn, I advise you to think twice, or better yet, change your mind.
