My best place to stay was during my second visit to Japan. Ryokan is good as a place to live - a huge room, 4 bags of green tea daily, friendly hosts, pleasant friendly atmosphere. It is a 10-minute walk from the train station. And that's not all. Ryokan has nice bonuses. The owner takes visitors to the Jigokudani Japanese macaque Park every morning for free in his car. Departure at 7 a.m., another 20 minutes walk to the park, as a result, you can get to the park, to the monkey onsen at 8-00. At this time, you can safely admire the monkeys - apart from you, there will be few people here. When I was walking back, the tourists brought by buses were walking to the onsen in large groups, and by that time the monkeys had left the onsen and were walking along the river. There are also two onsen at the ryokan - a shared one in the ryokan itself (free) and a private one in another building across the street, outdoors (1 hour costs 500 yen). I stayed for two nights and took a private onsen three times, very nice. In addition, upon departure, the owner or his wife will take you to the station for free (I was already going to walk). Wi-Fi is available, and breakfast is available for a fee.

A cool authentic hotel, you can rent an onsen just for yourself)))) The passage between the buildings is underground. I recommend a Japanese-style dinner!
