We had a rest from May 19-29. We came to Abkhazia for the first time. The hotel is decent, the best location, close to the beach 7 min. The beach was put in order, the garbage was removed, the cafe was open. The rooms are cleaned and towels are changed every day, bathrobes are provided, the food is delicious, but you can diversify with fruits and vegetables, Abkhazian cheeses are just a masterpiece! The reception staff is super responsive, friendly and always goes to a meeting. The hotel has two buildings, and a third is being built nearby. We lived in the first building, room 408. There is no elevator, the suitcase had to be lifted to the 4th floor. The view from the balcony is gorgeous, there is a dryer, a table and two chairs. There was a kettle in the room, another big plus, 2 0.5l bottles of water were provided every day. There is an iron with ironing board on the floor, which helps a lot. We saw all the sights of New Athos. We went on an excursion to Lake Ritsa, the Kyndyg +Chernihiv thermal spring, evening Gagra, walked along the Sukhumi embankment and the Botanical Garden. We took a ride on the new Dioscuri train to Sukhum. We will definitely come back here again! Novy Athos itself is love forever ❤

Great hotel. The only negative is the size of the bathroom, very small, not very comfortable. Beautiful view of the monastery from the window. Many attractions are within walking distance. This is very important, you can avoid spending extra money on excursions and make it more convenient for yourself to plan visits to important places. There is insanely delicious milk all over Abkhazia: cottage cheese, cheese, butter, milk! The hotel's dining room is no exception. There is a cafe called Roma's near the Rakushka bus stop - oh, what a delicious soup there is! Generally, gastronomic pleasure can be singled out as a separate direction of the tour. Try local dishes! The hotel staff is very attentive and polite. 1,500 people took a taxi to Sukhumi, and 1,200 went back. A taxi driver was caught on the street there, and a taxi was already ordered by phone in Sukhumi. The distance from Athos to Sukhum market is 24 km. We were in the second building of the hotel, we had a large swimming pool. In the first one, they say it's small, we didn't go there ourselves, we didn't see it.
