A great park was a mandatory part of the program of the trip to Japan. Deer are everywhere and many of them are very arrogant). Cookies are sold specifically to treat them. There is a majestic temple with a huge Buddha in the park. The rainy weather could not overshadow our arrival. There are a lot of people, I advise you to arrive early.

Nara Park is not just a park, but a real interactive performance with hundreds of deer, where you become a part of the action. Special waffles for deer are sold here — shika senbei, cost about 200 yen. And as soon as you pick them up, the show starts. Deer really bow down for food — and they do it consciously. You bow to them, and they bow back. Very nice... the first 30 seconds 😄 And then, if you're late with a treat, they can: — gently butt — pull on clothes — stick your nose in your pocket — start actively "demanding" your own Some even stand on their hind legs to reach the waffles. At this point, you realize that these are no longer just cute animals, but very persistent participants in the process. Sometimes a whole group gathers around you, and it gets really adrenaline pumping. But this is exactly the feature of the place — lively emotions, laughter, surprise and a complete sense of contact with nature. At the same time, the park is huge, green, with a stunning atmosphere of ancient Japan. Temples, forest paths, soft light — and deer walking freely among all this. Tip: if you don't want to feed, don't hold anything like food in your hands. They react instantly. It's not just a walk. This is an experience that will definitely be remembered.

A large park, beautiful temples/castles/structures on the territory. Funny deer that you can feed with cookies you bought: yes, they are sociable and bow down, but some are so arrogant that they will chase you and bite your clothes.… We got caught in the rain, and it was great to climb the stairs to the hill outside the main park in the fog. It is very beautiful, green and lots of animals. One even cried pitifully that he didn't get a cookie.
