They said it was impossible to do this without a prescription, although both lenses in the glasses are exactly the same. It's a shame that the attitude towards customers has deteriorated so much — after all, this particular pair of glasses was made by this company about 20 years ago, and this is not the first time I have come to repair with such a request. It seems that you have not heard of such a device as a dioptrimeter. Apparently, this is a forgotten technology.
