A place of incredible beauty. In addition, the temple is located on a mountain sticking out of the very center of Marseille and is visible from almost anywhere in the city. Needless to say, what a fantastic view of the metropolis and its harbor opens from here.

Great place, great view!! It seems to me that it is necessary to visit. Notre Dame de la Grande in Marseille is one of the most famous and beautiful buildings in the city. Its architecture impresses with its scale and unique style. Majestic columns, elegant decorations and stunning stained glass windows make this cathedral a truly magnificent place to visit and worship. I recommend visiting Notre Dame de la Grande during your stay in Marseille to enjoy its beauty and atmosphere.

The idea to climb the mountain on an excursion train to take a look at the whole of Marseille from the basilica site, including the old port and the island of If, and take amazing pictures, came independently to all the passengers of our cruise liner who disembarked on the Cote d'Azur for several hours. I was pleased with everything: wonderful views, open spaces and landscapes, the lush and airy architecture of Notre Dame de la Garde with a "marine" bias of the elegant interiors of the basilica, its compositional harmony and solemn majesty. Perhaps this is the best option to see the Cote d'Azur from one point in a couple of hours. A train with three carriages for 15-20 people each ran in 20 minutes in summer, which is convenient for tourists who are extremely limited by the time they stay in the port city. Plus, there was also a regular bus No. 60, in which for only 2 € you could climb to the basilica (although without the accompanying text of the audio guide, which was on the tourist train)
