The temple was originally built as the Church of St. Joseph in the antique style fashionable at that time with donations from Emperor Paul I. Therefore, its architecture is more reminiscent of the Roman Pantheon. By the will of fate, it is now an Orthodox cathedral, christened in the name of Archangel Michael.

St. Michael's Cathedral is stunning in its beauty and spiritual atmosphere. But a huge BUT! It is almost impossible to get accurate information about the schedule of liturgies for the new month. The schedule appears only a couple of days before the end of the current month, and therefore it is impossible to plan a visit in advance for the first days. This creates inconveniences for parishioners and visitors of the city. I would really like this issue to be treated more carefully, because the temple should be open not only to doors, but also to information for people.
