"Medea – daughter of the King of Colchis" is a 5–meter bronze statue of a woman hugging two small children. It was cast in 1969 in Leningrad and installed in its place in the 1980s. It was quite logically placed in Pitsunda: according to legend, it was on the territory of Abkhazia that the ancient Colchis from the myths about the Argonauts who were looking for the golden fleece was located.

A nice wide pebble beach, plenty of space, there are changing cabins, free toilet, shower, cafes nearby, a grove with Pitsunda pines. I don't like the statue itself, I don't understand why this unpleasant Greek epic is on a family beach. It was possible to create something positive

My favorite beach. The most unusual beach I've ever been to is because the coastline turns and breaks off at this point. It's windy enough because of this, but incredibly beautiful! And the statue is beautiful, and the sea is clean.
