We stayed in a hotel that was only a 5-minute walk from this mosque. Therefore, on the way to the storn of the center, we always walked past it. And, of course, they went inside. The interior is very beautiful. And the mosque itself impressed us. There is a cool Rabbit Hole coffee shop opposite the main entrance.

Oh, this is a great place! The mosque is magnificent! There are few tourists, because it is located away from the tourist routes, as if hidden from your eyes. It's a beautiful building. They passed through the courtyard of the mosque more than once, shortening the way to the historical square. It was summer and there were no classes in the madrasah, but we saw boys playing football in the courtyard during the day and in the evenings. The staff did not obstruct the entrance for inspection. In the past, wonderful times, the church of St. Anastasia was located on this place. The Sokullu Mehmet Pasha Mosque was built on its foundation and walls. Unlike other places, it is very quiet here and you can talk to the Almighty in peace. There is an ancient cemetery on the left, and boys are playing soccer with a ball in the courtyard. It's a very peaceful, spiritual place.I recommend.
