"The author of the work is a famous contemporary artist from South Korea Ji Yong-Ho, born in 1978. Ji Yong-Ho became famous all over the world for creating realistic and frightening sculptures of animals, mutants and mythical creatures from recycled rubber. According to the author, car tires are an ideal medium for art: black rubber is incredibly plastic. By cutting it into thin strips and layering them on top of each other, he perfectly conveys the texture of the skin, the fibers of the ferocious muscles and the relief of the tendons of an angry beast. The work carries an important environmental manifesto about waste recycling, as well as a reflection on how man-made artificial materials can mimic living, wild nature. Like most of the other sculptures on the Cascade, "Lion 2" (created by the author in 2008) was originally part of the personal collection of American media mogul and philanthropist Gerard Gafeschyan"

The figure of an angry lion made of pieces of car tires. Created by Korean artist Yong Ho Ji. The artist attaches sections of tires to the prepared frame in such a way that the animal's anatomy is displayed as accurately as possible. It takes him about three months to complete one such piece.

It's cute! Especially what it's made of. I'll make it out of tires.
