We are currently staying at the hotel. We arrived on December 29, 2025. We chose the hotel based on photos and recommendations from the travel agency. We've already changed 2 rooms during our stay, but it hasn't gotten any easier. They asked to move to another hotel, they said that there were no rooms, New Year's holidays. The hotel is very dirty, everything is sticky, stained, the furniture is old, the glass in the cupboards is dirty. It looks like a flophouse. It's disgusting to touch everything around you. The rooms are not cleaned. The bed linen is stained, straightened after the previous tenants. There are 2 old colored towels in the room with a dubious washed appearance. In the room where we live now, a mouse runs over the ceiling at night and gnaws at the ceiling, sawdust falls on the bed. The room faces the road, it's very noisy until nightfall., The staff tries to solve the problems, but it turns out very badly. The cleaners don't even have cleaning sprays, they rub everything with a dirty rag. The floor is only swept before check-in. They don't do wet cleaning. One of the advantages: the proximity of the ocean and a beautiful view of the ocean. Tolerable meals: breakfast/dinner. A good New Year's Eve dinner: menu, program.

Lavanga garbage resort I'm betting a solid 3. January 2026. Like it: 1. Beautiful view from the window. From the second part of the hotel, it looks like a separate annex. 2. We only came across kind and nice and courteous staff. 3. Clean pool. 4. Own sun beds on the beach. 5. Normal food. Delicious coffee. Of course, it's not Rixos or Radisson, but there's plenty to eat for breakfast. It's obvious that the chefs are trying. 6. There is no noise here except the ocean, but we liked it. There are no parties or music until the morning. In the evenings, you can rest in peace. 7. Not far from Hikkaduwa beach. 3.5 km. Or 5 minutes by tuk tuk. 8. There was a refrigerator, water, kettle, and tea in the room. I didn't like it: 1. In general, the hotel is shameful. Everything is old. The furniture is swollen. 2. We are picky. And it took a long time to choose a room. As a result, they chose a more or less normal one. The others were watching and it was really terrible! And this was offered to us for an additional fee! Suites are not suites! At first we thought that the hotel had survived the tsunami of 2004. But after seeing the year of construction in 2009, they realized that the management simply does not deal with the hotel and is not interested in improving the quality of service and accommodation. The fish rots from the head - the Russians will understand. 3. In the central part of the hotel, where there are glass balconies, the rooms smell damp. The pillows are mildewed. And these balconies are all covered with pigeons. They don't wash anything! Complete unsanitary conditions. The furniture is broken and it's scary to go out on the balcony. Not like sitting there and enjoying the view. 4. Dishes and garbage could have been left in the corridors for several days. 5. Remnants of former luxury are visible - apparently it was once a Cool resort. Now it's a hole. But with a beautiful view of the ocean. An ordinary flophouse. Of the new ones, only the reception, the library and the lobby. 6. Rooms are cleaned if you left the key at the reception. 7. Plumbing is broken. The shower is leaking onto the floor. Make the water pressure lower. 8. Wi-Fi is almost not working! 9. Out of 5 sockets, 2 were working. Take a pair of adapters just in case. 10. The elevator is a terrible brake! A couple more years and it will break. I haven't worked for 2 out of 10 days already. The Indians stopped by for a couple of days, it was a nightmare. When they checked out, the rooms were open and there were just mountains of trash and bottles. They lived in a crowd, apparently. Like pigs throwing everything on the floor. We were shocked! If you are squeamish and waiting for the service, then you definitely are not here. We didn't have any insects. We lived on the 4th floor. In the right wing. Rooms from 51-53 are normal. Overlooking the ocean. The air conditioner was working. The view from the wooden balcony is beautiful. We only came to sleep. We had breakfast a couple of times out of 10 days. Different shifts. For some, everything is ready at 8 a.m. For others, nothing has been done yet at 8:30. In general, we got a decent room. Clean linen. And they brought us a new safe for a tip. This is welcome here. There's a store across the street. And stop. Very convenient. Tuk tuk 500 rounds and you're in Hikkaduwa. The beach at the hotel is not for swimming. And to enjoy the beauty and power of the ocean.
