Stepping into CuCucina feels like entering a lively corner of Italy, right in the heart of Tashkent. From the bright, sunlit street, you’re welcomed by soft Venetian plaster walls, warm earthy tones, and ceramic-tiled tabletops that add a touch of rustic charm. Gentle Italian music plays in the background, creating a relaxed and inviting atmosphere. At the heart of the restaurant is its open kitchen — a quiet stage of culinary craftsmanship. You might see fresh dough being rolled or salad leaves being tossed in the air. In my case, the green salad was mixed right at my table, finished with a light drizzle of dressing. Next came the focaccia with Parmesan cheese — warm, soft, fragrant with rosemary, and rich with olive oil. It was the kind of bread that doesn’t need anything else to shine. I also ordered a glass of grapefruit fresh juice: bright, sharp, and wonderfully refreshing in the early summer heat, yet quite pricey for a glass of juice at 150,000 UZS. The staff, dressed in black-and-white trousers and crisp white T-shirts, were graceful and attentive. Service was friendly, timely, and unobtrusive — everything you’d hope for in a place like this. Even as the restaurant filled up, it never felt overwhelming. The soft clinking of cutlery, gentle conversation, and occasional hiss from the espresso machine created a soothing rhythm beneath the high ceiling. The only drawback? A persistent fly that tried to land on my food. But the manager personally came over, asked how I was enjoying everything, and explained they’re actively working on resolving the issue — a thoughtful touch that left a good impression. In short: a small slice of Italy in Tashkent — and absolutely worth visiting. Ten out of ten
