Elephant Hotel, Sri Lanka - Post—stay review (March 22-23, 2020) In short, it's not about the hotel — it's about emotion. We only stayed here for one night as part of the tour program — and honestly, that's more than enough. The main feature of the hotel is the elephant breakfast. In the morning, the staff brings the elephants to the river, and right during breakfast you watch them swim. It's a sight that's really worth coming here for: lively, atmospheric, very instagrammable, and at the same time truly touching. Now about the hotel itself: it is quite simple, without frills and already a little tired. This is not about luxury or comfort level 5★ — rather about basic accommodation. There are nuances that are worth paying attention to: — the balconies are not cleaned perfectly (bird tracks are visible) — the general condition is "elderly" — the breakfast is very modest, without variety But it is important to understand the context: this is not a hotel where people go to "live" — it is a point in the route. And here it works at 100%. Because: ✨ You get a unique experience Incredible visual content The emotions that remain stronger than the impressions of the room Result: for 1 night as part of an excursion tour — absolutely fine. If you perceive it as a part of the adventure, and not as the final point of rest, there will be no disappointment. And for breakfast with elephants... you can safely close your eyes to everything else.

A very beautiful hotel with the main feature in the face of a steep view of the river where elephants swim) The hotel itself is very clean, the staff is polite and smiling, like everyone in Sri Lanka, and they also served welcome drinks) The hotel also has its own bar-restaurant, as well as a swimming pool overlooking the river. We took rooms with breakfast included, everything was very tasty. The only thing I didn't like was that we fed the elephants fruits from our breakfast, and the elephant keepers started demanding tips from us.

Nice hotel, we are staying here for the second time. We take a large family room even for two. Breakfast is good, I recommend pancakes with coconut and curry. The rooms on the ground floor are new, after renovation. The staff is friendly and resolves issues.
