The most disgusting place!!! I was in Zanzibar for the first time and faced such rudeness from the current owners of this hotel. I don't recommend this terrible hotel to anyone. There was no water, no light, the generator was old, it didn't even pull basic lights and water pumps, it was impossible to wash and go to the toilet. I've never seen such horror anywhere else! We were during the New Year holidays, we paid for 2 weeks, and the refund was refused. I talked to the neighbors at the hotel, absolutely everyone was unhappy and asked for a refund, everyone was refused!! The rooms were terrible!!! Mega old renovation, mattresses worn out, neighbors (husband, wife and child) slept on collapsed mattresses. I wanted to escape from there and not come back. The vacation is ruined! Well, let's start with the negative aspects of our vacation. Upon arrival at 5:30 a.m., they couldn't get to the hotel, massai had to wait, but he fell asleep, the hostess got through, and half an hour later they went in somewhere. Nevertheless, knowing that you will be visited, this moment must be taken into account, people are tired from the road, and standing at the door feels like it. The rooms are ordinary, no frills, iron, hair dryer are all at the reception without any problems. The breakfasts are monotonous, but in the morning it is quite. The staff is nice and friendly. There are restaurants, cafes, and an exchange office near the hotel (normal exchange rate). Access to the beach has 3 exits, a 10-minute leisurely walk. About the smell of sulfur and so on, but we did not encounter any of this. The owners are good, if you insist on something they will do it faster, but it's all the owners like that)). In general, it's enough to spend the night clean. Stock up on powerbanks (the electricity is off occasionally, and the generator, in my opinion, is a little weak). Overall, the 4* rating is quite good.

I am happy that we spent our holidays at this hotel! A small hotel close to the beach (5-7 minutes walk at a steady pace), absolutely everything you need is nearby, this is the center of the village of Nungvi - the central square is within walking distance, shopping stalls, delicious and inexpensive cafes, an equestrian club, the best beaches, etc. Delicious breakfasts that are adapted for Russian tourists, fruits and vegetables are mandatory for breakfast. Mango juice! The rooms are well maintained, the renovation is done in accordance with the local flavor, cleaning and changing towels daily, cleanliness everywhere. The friendly staff, the local hotel manager, at our request arranged for us to have the best fruits at a pleasant price to take home as gifts, everything was delivered directly to our room. Well, I would also like to mention the hosts of the hotel, without whom our vacation would not have been the best - these are Dasha and Max! As soon as we arrived, they greeted us, told us about all the features of the island and the locals, threw off a checklist of places to visit, good cafes of different price categories and contacts of trusted guides, as well as tips on how not to waste your money while vacationing in Zanzibar. Thanks to Dasha's friend, we went swimming with dolphins in the open sea, more expensive than with the locals, but individually and wisely. We swam with them for two hours!!! I recommend this hotel to those who want to enjoy the flavor of Africa, swim in the sea, visit different places on the island and interesting cafes, and not sit in a room or by the pool for the whole vacation. 😉

It was a disgusting hotel, we went to a room where only the floor was washed, the shelves in the cupboards were covered with dust, and accordingly no one cleaned there, although check-in was from 14:00, we arrived earlier and they did not want to check us in, they said that cleaning was being carried out! The hotel, during a blackout, WITHOUT air conditioning, Internet with non-working outlets, and they have it on a regular basis. we slept in a stuffy room because it was impossible to open the windows, there are not even mosquito nets., Repillers were not offered, sockets and air conditioners do not work during the blackout and the work of the generator! The hotel couldn't handle the blackout, they don't have a proper generator! During the New Year holidays, everything was terrible compared to other hotels with the lowest price and access to the ocean, which is not available in the Max hotel!!! Overpayment by 30-40%!!! The price tag is very high for such a horror! They asked for a REFUND, but the hotel owners refused. They didn't even talk about any kind of refund. I would like to note that the owners changed a year ago! We are very disappointed with this place!!! I strongly do not recommend visiting the Max Hotel!!

We had a couple vacation in September 2024. We booked a hotel room a week before departure. Daria (the hostess of the hotel) immediately contacted us, very quickly confirmed the reservation and answered important questions for the first time traveling to Africa. Upon arrival, she met with us personally, additionally sent us a detailed guide with nearby attractions, cafes and restaurants, information about tides, opportunities to rent a sunbed and relatively inexpensive rest on the territory of five-star hotels, average fruit prices, even the nearest alcohol supermarkets. In general, I am very grateful for such a warm welcome. Deluxe room with fridge and kettle. Spacious, two Windows, a large bed, the air conditioner worked properly, and any little thing was eliminated very quickly. We provided two adapters for chargers. Cleaning every day, the canvases were changed, towels for the beach were taken with them (they were warned about this in advance), the linen was changed every 2-3 days. Of the huge advantages: imported drinking water and delicious breakfasts. Wi-Fi is available throughout the hotel, we have not failed. During a power outage throughout the island, the hotel has a generator running. There are sunscreen/after-sun products and books in Russian at the reception. The territory of the hotel is very cozy, the distance to the beach is 5-7 minutes.

The owners of the hotel have changed, the new owners are "in the tank". Russians Katya and Denis, who don't give a damn what's going on. They're running away from us. There is no water, no light, no generator. We roast in the hotel. The staff is available only in the morning. All the vacationers are in shock, we can't move out, nothing. Only excuses from Katya that everything will be soon. And the vacation is coming. The money is not refunded. Don't come here under any circumstances.

The room is comfortable, hot water without interruption, cleaning every day, a la carte breakfast. The location of the hotel is very convenient and it takes 5-7 minutes to get to the shops and the beach. The beach is incomparable love for life ♥️
