The wooden statue was made in the nineties, installed next to the bridge that leads to the Old Castle. It is one of the attractions of the city of Grodno.

In 1389, by order of Prince Vitaut, a wooden church was built in the center of Grodno. For many years, the name "Fara Vitovta" was firmly established behind him. Over the centuries, the temple was repeatedly destroyed during wars and fires, and in 1961 it was finally demolished, and a memorial sign was erected in its place, which we see now.

A memorial sign on the site of the former temple. In 1403, Prince Vytautas founded a church, which was the first Catholic church in the area. In 1587, King Stefan Batory, who chose Grodno as his permanent residence, built a stone building instead of a wooden one. And it was the largest church in the INCL. It was badly damaged. It was repaired with state-owned royal money and transferred to the Orthodox denomination in 1807g. The Soviet government found the best use for it: the warehouse of the fine-grain mill and DOSAAF. In 1961, it was decided to demolish (blow up), allegedly for dilapidation. At the same time, they also took care of using the building materials left over from the explosion - that's how they wrote in their decision: use for road construction and filling.
