I liked it very much. We were driving from the Bryansk region, the roads were snowy, but it was worth it. I ordered a tour on the website, we were a little late, they waited for us. The guide is just super mega, she told me very interesting things. There is also a castle fortress nearby, well, not a fortress, but a restored piece, and the Nikolskaya Church is also worth a visit. I think the view will be even steeper in the spring, because the church and the fortress are located on a large hill and near the river. In general, we adults and children really enjoyed it, thanks a lot to the museum staff!!! Also, there was the residence of Santa Claus. (You can't pay with cash, but the world is a problem with a card)

A great place, we were with a guide, the girl talked very interestingly, asked questions and willingly answered herself, left a very positive impression) There is no need to wait until the group is assembled. Guide services for any number of 16 bel. rub. Ticket 8. There are many interesting exhibits. All are collected from different collections, but related to the era and events related to the appearance of Potemkin in Krichiv and the further fate of the estate. It's great that history is being preserved in such small towns and museums are being developed. The museum hosts musical evenings, balls and other interesting events.

After staying in Krichev for a few days at the end of May, of course, the first thing we decided to do was visit the Potemkin Palace. This monument, built in the classical style, was donated by the favorite of Catherine II, Grigory Potemkin, as well as the palace in St. Petersburg. But that's not the point. The local wedding palace of Krichev is located in the same building. Can you imagine the solemn atmosphere in which the local newlyweds conclude their union! Beauty begins from the very entrance to the courtyard park. The park is small but well-maintained, the variety of plants is impressive, for example, the blooming rhododendron, whose climatic homeland is about 500-800 km to the south, perfectly neighbors Hungarian lilacs, barberries. First, the guide Alina told us about Mikhail Melnikov, a Belarusian local historian, the founder of the Museum of local lore in the city of Krichev, an exhibition on the ground floor is dedicated to him. Relatives and followers of the Melnikov school still work in this museum. The history of the palace dates back about 250 years, many owners remember its walls, by the way, completely undisturbed during this time, neither during the huge fire of 1840, nor during the Great Patriotic War a hundred years later. There are many antiques in the Potemkin Palace, donated by the residents of Belarus and their descendants living in Europe today, there are paintings and reproductions by famous Belarusian artists. Between the 1st and 2nd floors of the palace building, in addition to portraits of its owners and their relatives, there is a unique tapestry made by local resident Natalia Kovaleva, donated to the museum. At the end of the tour of the second floor of the building, Alina told us a little interesting story about local ghosts, we saw traces of one of them on the parquet floor with our own eyes ... In the building of the Potemkin palace, in addition to the registry office, there is a hall called the mother's museum, there are many photographs that tell about the fate of famous residents of the city of Krichev and its district. At the end of the tour, we were asked to leave a review about the exhibit we liked in the review book, and the exhibit that receives more reviews by the end of 2026 will be highlighted. I was personally impressed by the stone "Krichev iron", from the name of which, according to one version, the city of Krichev got its name. The guide Alina also told us about the stages of the development of the history of metallurgy in ancient times, rather complex processing of krichev iron ore. We wholeheartedly thank the staff of this museum complex, as well as all the residents of the city of Krichev for their kindness, cordiality and sincerity.
