The ruins of the ancient city are partly on the island, the rest is under water. You can wade to the island, I was at most knee-deep (about 60 cm). There are barriers in front of the island (apparently, you can't go in there). It is clear that mortar was poured in some places, masonry was reported somewhere, but the ancient foundation is also visible. In one place, marble slabs remained, fastened in the same way as in Bodrum at the Mindosa gate. Overall, I liked it, especially since the views are also great.

You can get to the mountain with the ancient city, but as I understand it, only from the sea. There is no pier, we got from the boat by swimming, without phones). It's definitely worth visiting here, the view from the highest point is amazing. The ancient earthquake apparently greatly changed the landscape, part of the mountain with buildings went under water, it is clearly visible. The remains of the city, parts of the columns, fonts, steps have been partially restored, but the whole thing does not resemble the ridiculous renovation that we saw in Pamukala. This is one of the oldest Greek colonies, and let it remain as it is.

Do not be fooled by the name of the ancient city. There is no going to the ancient city, the mountain opposite. There are only restaurants and shopkeepers selling souvenirs there.
