The Hotel De Maree is generally a good place. That's the best thing if you just need to spend the night. But there are some nuances that we encountered during a long stay, for which we would like to give 2.5 stars. You can close your eyes to them, but you want to leave a review with real conditions. 1. Breakfast items. In the dining room, the tables are not wiped, the chairs are all dirty, and it is not pleasant to sit. It remains to hope that the dishes are washed conscientiously. Breakfast is the same every day: a loaf, boiled eggs, sliced tomatoes and cucumbers, 2 types of cheese and a tasteless sausage. Jam and chocolate paste don't always happen. (We had a STANDARD room, and breakfast was included. When choosing the "ECONOMY" segment, such breakfasts cost 300 liras. Shock!!! At the same time, you can eat delicious food in a cafe for 200-220 liras). 2. There is a chandelier in the room, where only one of the 5 lights is on, and when turned off, it flickers and interferes with sleep. But the switch in the bathroom does not work and the light is always on!!! The ventilation system also works in the bathroom, it buzzes and makes it difficult to sleep. The hair dryer is not working. 3. There is hot water in the shower and it is very pleasing, but the shower is flowing. 4. And the water, by the way, smells strongly of bleach. Washing is unpleasant. 5. The room has never been cleaned during the entire stay at the hotel. In principle, it's OK, but then you need a broom or a mop in the room to clean yourself, at least a little. 6. Our room was located next to a flight of stairs and in the morning all the neighbors passing by could be heard. One of the advantages is the location: close to the embankment, near the square - an excellent landmark. There are also good grocery stores nearby. We walked to Sultanahmet Square (Blue Mosque, Topkapi, Hagia Sophia, etc.), Laleli Wholesale market, Eminenyu Marina, and Suleymaniye Mosque.

Probably, after the renovation, the hotel will be able to receive guests for a comfortable stay, but so far the impression remains not very pleasant.

We had a nice room on the 4th. It's a little dirty. The room itself is not bad. The window faced the street. We were very tired of walking and came only for overnight stays. For this reason, the noise from other guests did not interfere. The kids really liked the guy at the reception, Orhan. He speaks Russian. He explained everything very well. I changed money at a favorable rate. Tea and coffee are free at the reception.

2 stars only for the view from the room's balcony. We were probably lucky and this is the best room in the whole hotel. Otherwise, it's a disgusting place for one night if you're completely exhausted and have nowhere to go. Murdered and smoky rooms. Breakfasts are generally without comments. I don't recommend it with children - it always stinks of cigarettes, because many people smoke right in the hallway. Good time of day, they're trying, but... There are no miracles, 3* there are 3*, clean towels and bed linen, and of course an exceptional location (not much more central) - that's it. The hotel is old, cleaned only upon urgent request, the breakfasts are the same every day, there is no sound insulation, there are no Russian channels, the Internet is very weak. The guests are mostly from Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan. Price is quality, if there is an opportunity to pay a little extra, it is better to choose something else, or ignore the shortcomings, fight stupidly.

There are only three tables where you can eat , but since the hotel is small, you can often catch a place, but sometimes we took food with us to the room , since there were no places. Breakfast is the same every day - boiled egg, cut in half, sprinkled with spices (pepper), cucumbers, tomatoes, pigtail cheese , bread, jams. All. For the first two days of our stay, there was butter and honey. The rest of the days didn 't have that either . Very sparse. - room cleaning. She is not in this hotel at all. I'm not exaggerating. There is simply no such service. No one changes towels, delivers toilet paper, or takes out trash from trash cans. If you need something, you can ask at the reception. - the walls are paper thin in the hotel, all the neighbors behind the wall are very audible. A small child was crying as if in our room. - the guy from the reception slept every night right there on the couch … - a view from the window of someone's abandoned vegetable garden. In general, such a thing) but nevertheless, it did not spoil our rest. We are not picky, everything is tolerable.

We had a rest in early December 2023. The bathroom is dirty:the curtain is clearly dirty, the soap dish has not been washed after the previous owners, interruptions with hot water (either a very thin trickle or does not flow from the tap at all), even a tuft of hair was on the tile from the previous hostess. There is no kettle and glasses in the room (although they are usually present in the rooms). When the light was turned on, the switch fell off, one of the batteries was missing from the TV remote control, and the door on the balcony with a non-working lock. There are stains on the walls. Breakfasts are scarce:loaf, cheese, cucumber, tomato, sausage, olives, jam, butter (to choose from). One morning there was no coffee available. Of the advantages: not very far from some of the attractions. We are not sissies, mostly we only spend the night in hotels, but it is very unpleasant to wash in such a shower, and the lack of hot water is just nonsense! We do not recommend it.

The room in the attic is a hothouse- it heats up in a day, the conder blows on your head, you can't sleep with the window open- The Azan is at 5 o'clock. There are no hangers, no chairs, there is a useless pedestal. There is no cleaning, no towel change, the shampoo is incomprehensible, the screen is required. At the reception, the guys don't decide anything, they smoke themselves in the hotel, or under the window, everything pulls into the room. If the room is in the attic, immediately refuse. The breakfasts are the same, but water and tea are not limited, this is a plus. It's close to the sea, yes, but you have to run across a busy highway, you can't swim there, just admire. Sultanahmet Square is 15-20 minutes uphill, the streets are very narrow and there is constant traffic - be careful. We will never go to this hotel again

I DO NOT RECOMMEND IT STRONGLY!!! We were led there by a negligent receptionist from another hotel, who cancelled our reservation unilaterally, claiming that we were not in touch, and the reservation was secured with a Turkish card. How can I stay in touch on the plane??? They put us in this flophouse at 23 a.m. on Saturday, September 20, 2025, at the peak of the weekend, and charged us 160 euros for 3 days in advance for a room with a 5-square-meter roof with a broken toilet and a shower can without even a curtain (photo attached). In the morning, after recovering from the shock and getting our bearings a little, we found cheaper but luxurious 4-room apartments with a kitchen and 50 meters from this flophouse. After asking the owner to return at least 100 euros, he explained for a long time through his Russian-speaking brother that he could not do this for far-fetched reasons, such as having paid taxes and fees. At the same time, he refused to issue payment documents to us. You can 't get rich on other people 's money !!! God is your judge!!! DECEPTION!!!

The towels are clean and white, and the bed linen is also clean. We covered ourselves with blankets, because it was a little chilly at night, they were in a drawer under the bed. To clean the room, you just had to leave the key at the reception. The location of the hotel is very good. The embankment and all the attractions are within walking distance. A little one-base breakfasts, in recent days I wanted something else. But the bread and cheeses are very tasty. Tea, coffee, water at any time. We were moved into a room on the ground floor, after examining it, we were slightly shocked - mold in the bathroom on the ceiling, no curtains, and this is the first floor, you can't even change clothes, well, dirt everywhere is just dirty. but the most interesting thing started in the morning when we woke up from the kitchen next door. They asked us to move, placed us on the second floor - the result. there is less mold on the ceiling, the toilet does not work, well, that is, you flush it, and after that it makes noise for 30 minutes, pillows and blankets are all stained, Wi-Fi does not work. BUT a company from Tajikistan moved into this hotel, like, how did they behave, booze, yelled songs, danced, I haven't seen such game for a long time and do you think the manager made a remark? No, of course not. They came on vacation, so everyone should hear their drunken screams! And finally, the manager leaves your requests unanswered, well, right here he is looking at you and is silent, you say, for example, the toilet does not work - he sits and continues to play, and no one will come to your request to fix it.

And certainly not a standard, it's worse than a housekeeper. It's a seagull's nest! There is no heating, they offered to heat the air conditioner, which does not work. A window (exactly a window, not a window!) under the ceiling. You can open it only by showing miracles of resourcefulness, because the rag, which should be a curtain, immediately falls to the floor! The toilet-shower is a separate fairy tale. If you want to wash, you need to remove the toilet paper, otherwise it will get all wet, because there is not even a door between the shower and the toilet. To get to the toilet or shower, you need to completely squeeze into the space near the washbasin, close the door behind you and only then will you have the opportunity to get to the shower. Instead of a hood, there is a through hole to the street, there is no shelf under the mirror. While brushing your teeth, you bang your head against the ceiling. Everything is rusty and mildewed. We live for the fifth day, they don't even take out the garbage, you shouldn't even dream about cleaning and replacing towels. You will never be able to close or open the front door the first time! Because a well is a through hole where you need to manage to insert the key correctly to get into the groove. There is no sound insulation at all! The walls are cardboard. The time is 23-00.... For more than an hour we have been listening to people moving into the next room.... For honesty, there are also advantages - a comfortable mattress, hot water all the time and location. That's all.
