As at the time of departure, we quickly checked in and checked in our luggage. The girls did not pay attention to the overload, it was not significant, but at other airports they could have found fault. The toilets are clean, as is the airport itself. The only thing is, if you want to eat before departure or after arrival, you will have to stand in long queues, there is little choice of European food, and Sri Lankan food is very spicy, although it looks very appetizing. Upon arrival, I decided to buy mince pies with meat and fish, I was warned that they were spicy, I thought that I liked spicy and it didn't scare me, but in reality it was very, very spicy, I didn't expect this, so I later avoided local pastries)) Therefore, in places where at least some European food is served, queues are mainly pizza, pasta and burgers, and it takes a long time to wait for an order. Upon arrival at the airport, they received a license to drive a car in Sri Lanka. This is mandatory if you rent a car. That's where you realize that the Lankans are in no hurry. (You need to be prepared for this in principle)) There was an hour in line, although there were 7-8 people, but this service, although based at the airport, does not belong to airport services. In the exchange office, the exchange rate was, oddly enough, very profitable. And it's good that they changed at the airport, because in the city of Colombo and other cities, the course was not so profitable.

During the inspections, items are randomly selected (including those allowed and purchased in duty free). Check-in for the flight opens late. The counters on my flight were completely confused, at first some numbers lit up on the scoreboard, and people went to the counter. They wouldn't let me in there, they said it was a check-in for another flight. Then the number of the racks on the scoreboard was stupidly replaced with others. This is despite the fact that registration is very slow and starts late. The gates before departure are closed rooms. The airport itself is small, there are a lot of people, there is nowhere to sit down. Sometimes the navigation is strange. The first time I saw it at the airport check-in desk with something like this text: "Due to the specific airport security, the toilets are..." However, I passed through customs quickly, without visas and any special documents. Upon arrival, I stood in line for a SIM card for ~40 minutes. I exchanged the currency quickly.

If the queue is large enough, you can use the services of a "conditional fast pass", a guy in an airport worker's vest, on a trolley, pushes your luggage faster for inspection and accompanies you at check-in. The service costs 1,000 local rupees (very little if in rubles). After completing all the procedures, there is a standard set of options in Duty Free, in which you may not be able to accept the remaining rupees in your hands. There are several cafes and restaurants, of medium quality. Of the important things, there will be another screening at the boarding gate, during which all the water will be taken away from you, despite the fact that you purchased it at the airport! And while waiting for the immediate boarding of the plane, you will be in a separate room with benches. One more important nuance, despite the indicated boarding time, be closer to the gate itself, as in our case, Aeroflot announced the "last alert" 20 minutes before boarding, indicated on the boarding pass! I don't know why they do this, but I had to run around the airport in some way.
