A wonderful trip to Sri Lanka! Above our expectations. I liked everything. The hotel is excellent - decent food, green, a fairly large area with access to the municipal beach (this does not prevent you from spending time there comfortably), there are a lot of chipmunks on the territory, sometimes monitor lizards and peacocks walk. We recommend buying a Delux with an ocean view. They are near the second, small pool, where most people do not reach. We swam there almost always alone :) We bought breakfasts and dinners, and the dinners were regularly exchanged for Ala-cards. Decent restaurants with very tasty food. We went to restaurants on the beach for lunch a couple of times (not related to the hotel) - it's average there. We visited different parts of the island thanks to Cherry Tours - Sigiriya, Yala Park, Ella, took a train ride and much more. We met Cherry at home, booked everything we wanted. Everything was always exactly according to the stated program and on an excellent fresh car. We had a wonderful time together with the guide Adid, he told us a lot, we felt safe and at home. We had a vacation in January 2026, before that we were in Unawatuna, Thailand. The hotel is nice, sooooo delicious and varied food (seafood every day, several types of greens, and desserts in abundance). Cleaning every day, water and all sorts of little things for hygiene. The pool is also gorgeous, there are people who are ready to put a towel on a chaise longue and make it for your comfort (free of charge). To reach the beach, you need to get out and walk to the left, 7-10 minutes, there you will find the wonderful Indian Ocean waiting for you. What was missing and why 4 stars - there are no slippers in the room (and the floor is very cold), and in the evening there is absolutely nowhere to go, take a walk, buy something or watch something, very cinema and narrow streets. If this doesn't scare you and you're not as active as we are, then your vacation will be great. Just don't forget your slippers). Excursions were taken only from Cherry, he has comfortable buses, individual approach and additional bonuses (delicious coconut, trips to the city).

It's a wonderful hotel. Lots of space. 2 swimming pools. 3 restaurants. We took 3 meals a day, it was delicious and varied. Shrimp, squid, crabs, various types of fish, including tuna. Beef, pork, chicken. The pastries are gorgeous. The rooms are large, the room is cleaned every day. On the first day, we asked for more water in the room and then they always brought us not 2 bottles, but 3-4. We were very late on the tour once and returned at 23:30. We ordered a late dinner without any problems and hot burgers and salads were brought to our room. The level of service is excellent. Chipmunks, iguanas, and peacocks run around the territory. The guests feed the chipmunks with seeds and crackers, so they are practically not afraid of people. The ocean is gorgeous, the water is warm, like fresh milk. The reef is blocked by strong waves. There are sea urchins on the reef. But you need to swim more carefully in the ocean, the waves are strong and can carry you away. If you walk to the left along the beach, you will reach a beach with fine sand. When you reach the end of the beach, they offer a boat ride along the river: they show crocodiles (they are small), monkeys, a nest of chicks, monitor lizards, etc. They even offered to hold a small crocodile. Many people take guided tours right on the beach from the locals. We didn't take the risk, we took a Biblioglobus from our tour operator. They pick you up early from the hotel, because it's a long and long drive, at least 4 hours each way. What I liked: everything is organized, tickets are bought everywhere, everything is fixed in advance with everyone. On the downside: it's a long enough ride and you have to adjust to other tourists if you want to go further, but you have to wait for the others.

A family of 3 vacationed at Cinnamon Bey in Sri Lanka in December 2025-January 2026. The hotel has friendly staff, a green area, free cots are always available on site, towels are free, chipmunks run on the grass, you can meet a local monitor lizard. Beautiful ocean and beach. The hotel is surrounded by a natural reef, which is why it is very pleasant to swim, especially for children. Walking just 5 minutes away from the hotel, you can swim in the ocean with waves. We had breakfast and dinner included in the price. The cuisine is varied, there are a lot of non-spicy, very tasty dishes and beautifully laid out. There is always a lot of fruit, and a special big thank you to the chefs who prepare desserts, it is very tasty, beautiful, varied, for every taste. There are a lot of pastries for breakfast: all kinds of buns: with chocolate, without chocolate; donuts; croissants. There was a great banquet and fireworks on New Year's Eve, and on Orthodox Christmas Eve, the staff also tried their best, and the dinner was more varied and beautiful than usual. What was missing? There was not enough coffee machine and tea table for breakfast, where you can make your own drinks. We have to wait for the staff, who rounds the tables, asks what to bring and pours out ready-made drinks. At dinner, only water is free, and you also have to wait until the waiters pour it at your request. The numbers were tired, but in general everything worked. We cleaned every day. On the downside: there are mosquitoes and some other flying insects in the room. But it didn't bother us any more than it did in the summer in the village. Excursions in addition to the tour operator are offered by the guys on the beach. Taking advantage of numerous reviews on the Internet, we chose Cherry's guided tours and did not regret it. We took two one-day individual excursions to Ella and Kandy. We traveled in a comfortable car with a driver and a guide. Both times, cars picked us up from the hotel at exactly the designated time. The guides speak Russian, but of course they are not professional guides with a historical or cultural education, this must be taken into account. But you will be provided with local flavor and stories from local residents. I believe that the exact years of construction of a particular temple, extremely accurate botanical information, etc. can be found on the Internet. Guides accompanied us everywhere, literally led us by the hand, bought tickets, told us about the country and its customs. In general, we did everything to make sure that we had a rest on excursions. The trip to Kandy coincided with the Full Moon holiday, the locals had a day off, everyone went out for a walk with their families. At the Temple of the Tooth of the Buddha, where there was one of the stops, there was a crowd in connection with the holiday. Our guide led us with amazing agility, explaining the customs, showed us the main shrine of the temple, despite the terrible pandemonium, and led us to different parts of it. Very nice hotel, definitely recommend it. We had a vacation with a girl at the end of March. The food is not very diverse, but it is generally good. About the beach - this is our first time in Sri Lanka, we were afraid of the ocean, so we chose this particular hotel - with a bay enclosed by a reef. When they got used to it, they started walking "to the left" to the Ayurvedic hotel, where the stone sidewalk ends, the sand is more pleasant, white, and there are still no waves. As for the excursions, we bought them from Cherry, everyone knows him here. We went on a river safari, saw Yalla and Ella. We are happy with everything! The most important advantages are that Cherry has high-quality, clean transport - even boats, even cars. This is important, especially for long excursions - three hours there, three back is a lot, the reclining chairs and cushions in Cherry's car are very useful! By the way, we liked his drivers too - they don't drive fast, they drive carefully. Cherry knows Russian perfectly well himself and leads excellent excursions! It's very interesting to travel with him)) He also helps a lot in various everyday matters - to buy something, find a pharmacy, change money, and so on. Now about the hotel itself. We really liked him. The room was given on the 3rd floor (room 333). Clean, cozy, nice interior. There is everything you need. The water pressure in the shower is good, there is shampoo, shower gel, etc. View from the balcony to the courtyard and the sea. Mosquitoes did not get in, there is a fumigator in the room (some tourists complained that mosquitoes flew into the room on the 1st floor). The territory of the hotel is clean, well-groomed, spacious enough. There are sun beds everywhere, there was enough space for everyone. Tourists mostly occupied sun beds with umbrellas near the pool. Towels are already laid out on some sun beds in the morning, but this does not mean that they are occupied. We brought sunflower seeds with us, especially to feed the squirrels, they checked it out. Monitor lizards were also observed every day. The hotel also has a SPA, but the price tag is high, so we went for a massage to another place: along the beach to the left, behind The palms hotel. It's basically the same for dinner. Everything is very tasty! If we talk about beach guides, then each of them actively imposed their services. We decided to take a tour from Chanaka to Galle fortress city+turtle feeding+turtle farm+tsunami Museum+Ayurvedic garden ($90 for two). Two more families with children went with us, so the price is lower (individually $140). We enjoyed the tour, the guide takes good photos on his phone, then drops them in a telegram.Chanaka knows Russian and history well. We also went to the lighthouse with another person, also from the beach ($20 for a boat and $20 climb to the lighthouse). The views are very beautiful, it's a great place. We also rode along the Malaya Bentota River. They fed black monkeys, saw different birds, crocodiles, etc. It's also great, we recommend it ($35 per boat). We also went to Ella + rode the train + saw tea plantations + climbed the Small Peak of Adam + watched the feeding of baby elephants. The tour was taken from Indica (he is from a nearby beach). We had a rest in February, we had only positive impressions! The hotel is beautiful and clean. Of course, it would be possible to make cosmetic repairs, but we are not strongly biased towards some small things. We only took breakfasts, the choice was huge. It's a minute to the beach, but we went swimming to the left of the hotel beach (5-7 min walk). A nice ocean, pleasant waves, and a rainbow restaurant with sun beds were found on the shore. I also want to wholeheartedly thank our Sri Lanka guide, Sonika! From the first to the last day of the vacation, he was in touch all the time, you feel safe and in the company of a friend with him. He speaks excellent Russian and English, which greatly simplified the journey. We attended 4 guided tours, which were well organized. Of course, the renovation is no longer fresh, but it is completely acceptable, after reading the reviews we thought it would be worse, we only spent the night in the room, it doesn't matter to us. There was live music in the lobby of the hotel every day. The hotel grounds are well maintained, there are many chipmunks, and an iguana has been seen several times. The beach is surrounded by a reef, there are waves, but weak, for children the most important thing, we went to the neighboring beach without a reef. We only had breakfast. It may not be the largest selection of dishes, but everything is edible, you definitely won't stay hungry. Next to the hotel, there is a Coral Reef restaurant on the beach, we had lunch only there, very tasty, the guys are trying, 5 points! On the account of excursions from Russia, after reading the reviews, we contacted different guides, the best conditions were offered by the Sonic guide 94 767 584 594. Arriving at the hotel, we met with him and immediately realized that we had not lost. We took 2 excursions from him, he made 2 excursions as a gift. They don't know how to cook meat, unfortunately, beef is tough as a sole)). The staff is responsive, but extremely slow - the local mentality)..We went on excursions , asked for lunch boxes instead of breakfast - we were not refused . Local beaches are municipal , i.e. not hotel beaches , but urban beaches where locals swim with tourists . There are no sun loungers/ umbrellas. It is safe to swim with children - the gentle ocean , the sand , there are almost no waves .

We had a vacation in Sri Lanka for the second time. The hotel is beautifully located. The room had a view of the garden on the ground floor with a terrace (we booked this room in advance). There is a bar next to the rooms where you can get drinks. The rooms are clean and tidy, but a bit shabby. However, this does not spoil the impression at all. Special thanks to the Malith cleaner, who cleaned our room every day. Very friendly and helpful. He always worked very carefully, quickly and delicately. The meals were all inclusive. Here it is, let down. It's very monotonous and there's not too much choice. The restaurant's menu is more local-oriented. Especially compared to the hotel I visited last time. The waiters work slowly. Drinks have to wait a long time. And this is despite the incomplete loading of the restaurant. It became more lively after we contacted the reception desk and the restaurant manager. The food quality is good. Everything was delicious enough. No one went hungry. Special attention should be paid to Cheri's guide, with whom we toured the local beauty and went shopping. Cherie speaks Russian well and adheres to all agreements very clearly. Excursions with him are very comfortable. He can also take you by tuk-tuk to the city: to a restaurant, shopping, and generally help with everything you need. The staff is always helpful and ready to help. It is especially good that it is located right on the shore, in front of the hotel there is a sandy beach. What is valuable is that the beach is fenced off from the ocean by a coral reef, so a calm lagoon is formed, and you can swim safely. This is a big plus for Sri Lanka. The rooms have everything, they are cleaned twice a day. I took an all-inclusive package - food and local alcohol are included, and that was enough for me.

Of the cons: - there is no reception (young and stupid Sri Lankan girls), no one speaks Russian or actually English; - the choice of food (buffet) is quite decent, but you can see that they have recruited inexperienced chefs who only spoil all the dishes. The food turns out to be very tasty and with a lot of local seasonings and spices. Baking is normal. - all drinks (even coffee and tea) are paid, even if everything is included. A very positive and knowledgeable local guide. At first, we accepted his offer for an excursion to the Gala. There was a great transfer and guided tour. He's a very interesting storyteller. We took several excursions: half a day near the hotel in the mangrove forests (by boat: we fed monkeys, saw flying dogs, crocodiles, monitor lizards, etc.) Then we went elephant riding (for a fee), we were on a farm with turtles ... a lot of impressions (I recommend this tour). We went on safari to Yala Park. The road is hard, but the Toyota we drove was very comfortable and we slept on the way there and back. There are a lot of impressions, animals in the wild are amazing. And we went fishing for 2 days. One on the ocean for 4 hours (catch 9 Dorado and another like perch), the second on the Bentota river (there were fewer fish here), all the fish were cooked for us later and we had a delicious meal. In general, everyone makes a choice for themselves ... I'll say for sure that I've heard enough different reviews about the beach boys (I got caught on AUCHAN myself) who lures on excursions, be careful. I strongly do not recommend it.

An ordinary family-friendly hotel. Polite, but very cunning staff, pretended that the terminal was not working when checking in, had to pay in cash, while the check was issued a day later, and then, upon request. For an additional fee. the payment was offered in a "better" room, although it is the most ordinary, but with an ocean view. The rooms are clean, large, and ours even had a bathtub on the balcony. The territory is well maintained, a steep swimming pool, 3 restaurants at the hotel for different tastes and budgets. Chipmunks run through the trees and squeal like birds very loudly, you need to get used to it ... sometimes in the evening there are performers from the show and a guitarist. There is a children's corner, a pool for children. There is a fitness room, volleyball and tennis courts too. It's full of greenery, the entire inner territory is a lawn. The food in the restaurant where everyone eats is typical Asian (all kinds of peppery stuff), for an amateur, but there is a choice. The hotel is huge. The service is good, daily ... On the downside: the room next door was renovated, which no one warned about (but asked for money). Drilled all day (almost like at home)). The BEACH is bad, there are rocks all around, swimming is not possible. You need to drive further south of the island so that there is a normal entry into the sea. There is not a single shop or cheap local restaurant around, you need to take a tuk-tuk to the nearest one. And so the overall impression is 4 points.

We just recently returned from this hotel. I don't understand why the hotel positions itself as a 5? I can only give an A to food. The rooms are very old, and the rooms smell musty. The hotel itself brings sadness, greyness and gloom. We didn't understand the lagoon that everyone is praising. Locals and their dogs swim in it, and if it's raining outside, the water in this lagoon is insanely dirty, as the Bentota River flows into it (if anyone has been to Sri Lanka, they know what the Bentota River is.). The staff is polite, you can't take that away. Almost no one knows Russian. As elsewhere, foreigners are preferred more. And the most important problem is the huge number of fleas on the territory, we arrived home all bitten, it is impossible to lie on deck chairs. By the way, the room is also full of mosquitoes, although the hotel staff are poisoning them, it is impossible to open the balcony. This is not our first time in Sri Lanka, and believe me, there is something to compare it with.We went to the beach every day by tuk-tuk, to Bentota beach, where it is really beautiful and you can swim. In general, the impression of the hotel remained deplorable. We will definitely never go there again. I do not know why tour operators praise this hotel so much, it does not pull more than 3. I don't want to offend anyone, but while the impressions are fresh, I decided to share them.

The hotel fully matches the description, it stands right on the beach. In front of the hotel there is a small flowing lagoon without waves, on the left there is a long and wide sandy beach with surf, you can swim without fear of waves, as it is very shallow. To the right of the lagoon are small reefs with colorful fish and coral for snorkeling. The food is very diverse for every taste: there are local dishes with curry and pepper, and there are those we are familiar with. Barbecue and seafood every day. There are a lot of desserts, pastries and fruits. The pool is clean, the ocean is very warm. The staff is very friendly and smiling. The lack of animation is a huge plus, it's very quiet, just surf and ocean. Live music every evening. The territory is clean and covered with green grass, which is very pleasant to walk barefoot. Squirrels are scurrying all over the territory, monitor lizards are walking, Mosquitoes have not been noticed even once. The gym is small, there is a cardio zone and dumbbells. The beach is perfect for running enthusiasts, the sand is hard and it's a pleasure to run along the surf.

We visited Cinnamon in February, 2 adults +2 children (2 and 9 years old). The hotel is really tired, but everything is well maintained, everything is being monitored. Monitor lizards and chipmunks were found on the territory. There are two pools for adults. There are few sun beds by the pool, but there are plenty of places for everyone. There is a children's pool with a slide (fire slide during the day). There is also a type of children's room, they never got there. There is no animation, which is normal for this direction. The staff is friendly. If there are problems, they are quickly fixed. We took a paradise room, but before that we were temporarily accommodated in a standard room. Everything is quite decent. Cleaned twice a day. Water is brought, towels are changed. Food. Eat any kind of meat: chicken, lamb, beef, pork. Indian cuisine, Asian cuisine. Seafood: fish, crabs, shrimps, squid. Pastries, desserts. There is no children's table at all, there were difficulties here. Beach. Public. In the morning, the ocean is calm, very shallow, there are no waves here (this was a crucial moment in choosing a hotel). There are few people, tourists. You can see fish near the reef, and sea urchins on the reef. And in the evening, mostly locals are here. The beach gets polluted quickly. It is cleaned in the morning. Sun beds are paid. The sand is corral. If you walk further away, the sand is very pleasant, just like flour, and there are waves. Those who are interested in surfing are also taught there. About excursions. We read the reviews with recommendations about this in advance, and chose Cherry. He was contacted immediately upon arrival. We took two tours, individually. The first one: Ella, the nine-arch bridge, the waterfall, feeding the monkeys. The minibus was comfortable, clean, the air conditioner was working, and it was fresh. Our guide was Adid, who speaks Russian well, quickly focused on our needs, and gave us a story about the country and the places we visited. It was a long road, everything went well. Second tour: river safari, turtle farm, and swimming with turtles. Everything went according to plan, too. River safari- a walk along the river, monitor lizards, small crocodiles, monkeys were fed. The kids were welcomed at the farm for 1 day, 2 days, 3 and 4 days. And there were big turtles too. Bathing: 2-5 turtles swim to the shore, you can feed them (food is paid separately). You can also watch the fish there. Then there was time to relax on the beach. On the downside: it was crowded, just like in Anapa during the peak season (and at all facilities). If you have the opportunity to leave earlier, then this problem is solved. Cherry also took us for free to buy fruits, souvenirs, and ride an elephant. Elephant riding itself is paid. A short but pleasant walk. The elephant could still be fed. Cherry is responsive, friendly and always ready to help. We didn't regret contacting him. When we first came to the beach, we met Chanak. He also does field trips. He was very kind at first, treated them to coconuts, brought toys for the children to pick in the sand, and brought fruits. We decided to thank him, and took one tour to the Galla Fort+ turtle farm + swimming with turtles again. On the plus side: it was a good time, we went everywhere before the crowds of other tourists. And where there is a beach with turtles, a shower and a changing room were organized, breakfast by the ocean. The cons: the minibus was killed, but the most unpleasant thing is that the guide does not speak Russian, just a few words. And he doesn't understand the questions at all. He went everywhere with us, took pictures, and was helpful. But we never learned the history of the Galla fortress. The fort itself was impressive. Later it turned out that Chanaka harbored a grudge against us, that we took excursions from Cherry. Although Galla didn't cost us cheap either, plus we took sun beds from him every day for 2 weeks, we paid for a walk to the lighthouse. Whether the service failed out of revenge, or whether this is the order of the day, I cannot judge. It was written on his business card: "Feel the difference." And we felt it. As a travel agent who has specialized in excursions for over 15 years, it was interesting for me to compare the two competing guys. I have made my conclusions and there is no doubt who I will turn to next time. But everyone decides for themselves)) Overall, the memories of Sri Lanka were the most pleasant, and I would come back here again. I recommend the hotel.

We took guided tours from Cherie - we found them based on reviews in advance, he was responsive, but tuk-tuke took us to the city for free, helped with any questions, and conducted a River safari tour. I was advised by an Ayurvedic doctor, and I am writing about him with gratitude - all this made our trip wonderful. Ayurveda massages are a separate plus of a trip to Sri Lanka. Plus, he has very good guides, and we realized our dream - we visited Sigiriya with the wonderful guide Adid, then we went to Hika and Galle, swam with turtles. We've been to the turtle farm, sweetheart! By the way, our hotel also has a small "turtle farm" at the exit to the beach - they are grown from eggs. Many thanks to the hotel and staff, special thanks to the chefs! the food is delicious, the choice of dishes is large, even for breakfast there is seafood. We sometimes went to the Coral Reef Cafe for dinner, a two-minute walk along the beach, delicious - fresh seafood, fresh fruit, be sure to try rice and cabbage salad with pineapple - included in seafood dishes. A week has passed since we returned home - the warmest memories, with gratitude to the hotel, the guides, the Cherie, the cafe, the people, the nature of Sri Lanka.
