The statue is surrounded by temples and monasteries, where monks conduct services and rituals. The complex also includes pagodas, prayer halls and other religious buildings. The creation of the statue and the entire complex was a grandiose project that required enormous efforts and resources. Thousands of workers and craftsmen worked on its construction using stones and tools of that time. The Big Buddha Complex in Leshan is not only a religious place, but also a historical monument that testifies to the rich culture and history of China. It attracts tourists and pilgrims from all over the world who want to experience this amazing atmosphere and learn more about Buddhism and Chinese culture. You can get from Chengdu by high-speed trains, which take about an hour, the ticket price is 300-800 rubles, depending on the class, from Leshan station by taxi it costs 30-40 yuan and you are on the spot. The statue of the great Buddha can be viewed, among other things, from the water, but we were unable to do this because of the dramatically huge queue, I hope you will succeed. Nevertheless, the park, temples, locations, Buddhas, everything is fine here, I definitely recommend it. The time to visit the entire complex is 4-5 hours

And yes, then we walked up and down through the caves)) There's also a cave temple here, but it feels like a remodel. We liked it, no one from our small gang regretted that we went.

We went with a guide . There are two problems: it takes 3 hours to drive from Chengdu ( as well as back) , and the fact that for me these three hours on the road were not justified .. To climb quite a lot of steps among the million - strong queue in order to see , God forbid , some part of the statue , the negative was probably caused more by a combination of unfortunate circumstances .

The Buddhist monk Haitong was worried that a lot of people were dying in the stormy waters and whirlpools of the Minjiang River and proposed to build a giant statue of Buddha that would calm the river. The construction was carried out for about 90 years. Paradoxically, the huge masses of rock removed from the rock during the carving of the statue were evenly distributed along the bottom of the Minjiang River, filled the pits, and the whirlpools, indeed, became less.
