There are two zoos in Berlin. This one, which was previously located in West Berlin, is conveniently located in the very center of the city. There are a couple of metro and S-bahn stations nearby. It includes the zoo itself and an aquarium in a separate building. Buy paper tickets at the ticket offices at the entrance to the zoo (there are two entrances). Tickets are priced differently - separately to the zoo and aquarium, together (cheaper), for adults, for children, disability benefits are accepted (even according to the Russian pink certificate), for families. The entrance to the aquarium is separate either from the zoo or from the street. The zoo is relatively small in size. But absolutely wonderful. What kind of animals and birds are not here!! The territory is well thought out, well and logically planned, well maintained. There are souvenir shops at the entrance, you can get a free zoo map, carts for children, there are signs everywhere. Large aviaries, observation decks, enclosed pavilions - everything is made so that it is convenient to observe the animals. There are a lot of interactive educational stands. For example, you can look at the diet of monkeys, in the pavilion with predators, you can turn some knobs on the stands to see the mechanics of running, the work of paws. There is a lot of visual information on ecology, photos and information about the history of the zoo, scientists who worked here. There is a petting zoo designed as a "village yard". Lawns, flower beds, benches, a huge Playground. There is something like a food court- an outdoor area and a closed room. It also has a free toilet. There are tents with ice cream and sausages. In good weather, you can spend the whole day here. The zoo and aquarium are constantly being improved, but even if something is closed, there is always something to see. A must-visit.
