Qutb Minar is one of the most impressive and historically significant monuments of Delhi, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and the world's tallest brick minaret. This is not just a tower, but an entire architectural complex illustrating the very beginning of Indo-Islamic architecture. Start of construction: 1193, immediately after the conquest of Delhi by Muslim rulers led by Qutb-ud-Din Aybak (the first sultan of the Delhi Sultanate). The tower was completed by several sultans. The upper floors were added later, in the 14th century. Name: Named after Qutb-ud-Din Aybak, and also, possibly, in honor of Saint Khwaja Qutb-ud-Din Bakhtiyar Kaki, who was revered in those days. What is included in the Qutb complex (main facilities): 1. Qutb Minar: The center of the complex. 2. Kuwwat-ul-Islam Mosque: The first mosque built in Delhi after the Islamic conquest. Its builders used columns and materials from 27 destroyed Hindu and Jain temples, as can be seen from the unusual style. 3. The Iron Column (Alamgir): One of the main mysteries. The column of pure wrought iron, 7 meters high, dates back to the IV-V centuries AD (the period of the Gupta dynasty) and was brought here from somewhere in Central India. It has hardly rusted for 1,600 years, which is surprising to scientists. There is a belief that if you stand with your back to a column and wrap your arms around it, making a wish, it will come true. 4. Alai Minar: An unfinished giant tower. Sultan Ala-ud-Din Khilji dreamed of building a minaret twice as tall as the Qutb Minar, but managed to build only the first tier (24.5 m). 5. Mausoleums: The tombs of Iltutmish, Ala-ud-Din Khilji and Imam Zamin are located on the territory. 6. Alai Darwaza Gate: A masterpiece of Islamic architecture with exquisite carvings in marble and sandstone. The Qutb Minar served as the prototype for many subsequent minarets in the Indian subcontinent. His image can often be seen on tourist postcards and in textbooks as a symbol of Delhi. The Qutb Minar complex is a unique "place of power" where the moment of collision and synthesis of two great cultures — Hindu and Islamic - is vividly and palpably represented.

The Qutb Minar Tower symbolizes the path and establishment of Islam in India, which is why it is one of the most important Muslim shrines in India. I recommend you to visit. The atmosphere is cool, you can recharge and make a wish!!!! The tallest tower in India, the world's tallest brick minaret, is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. In the Middle Ages, Qutb Minar was considered one of the wonders of the world. The creators of Qutb Minar were undoubtedly brilliant mathematicians, if they made such crazy calculations. They also possessed the rarest artistic taste, so the tower still amazes anyone's imagination, leaving no chance for indifference. The diameter of the base is 14.74 m, the diameter of the upper part of the tower is 3.05 m. The unusual ornaments adorning the complex and their absolute incompatibility with Islam are due to the fact that stone from the ruins of many destroyed Hindu temples was used for construction. That's how this unusual combination and even a kind of fusion of different religions appeared in one architectural religious building.
