Extremely disappointed and outraged by the substitution of the drug without consent I placed an order for Duloxetine Sandoz 60 mg, specifically this brand, after a long study of the composition, patient reviews and comparison of enteric coating granules. I have a serious history: 15 years of stability on the original Simbalta, after switching to the generic, a relapse occurred. Therefore, I chose Sandoz very carefully, as it has one of the best pellet coating profiles among generics (HPMCAS or a very close polymer, as close as possible to the original Lilly). What did the pharmacy do? Without any prior approval, they sent me Duloxetine-Mepha 60 mg (200 capsules). They just decided for me that "Mepha is better and it's an equivalent replacement." In the letter, they wrote that they had done this in order "not to delay the shipment" and that Mepha was allegedly "even preferable." This is unacceptable. Firstly, Sandoz and Mepha are not the same thing in terms of the key parameter — the composition of the intestinal membrane of granules. Mepha uses Hypromellose phthalate (HPMCP), while Sandoz in European versions more often uses HPMCAS, the same polymer class as in the original Simbalta. For sensitive patients, this is not a small matter, but a matter of efficacy, absorption rate, and risk of recurrence. I specifically chose Sandoz based on this criterion. Secondly, they didn't even ask me. They didn't offer any options: wait for Sandoz, refund the money, choose another brand, or pay extra for priority. They just switched the drug on their own and tried to convince me that it was "even better." This is not a service, it is disrespectful to the client and to his health. Thirdly, the excuse "not to delay the shipment" sounds like an excuse. If the drug is not in stock, you need to be honest and offer a choice, rather than playing the "good uncle" who decides for the patient what to take. The drug came in a normal package, without damage, with a normal shelf life. But this does not negate the main thing: they did not send me what I ordered, and the drug, which is slightly inferior in technical parameters to the one I chose. I spent time researching, chose a specific brand, paid for the order, and eventually got something I didn't need. Now I'm in limbo: start taking Mepha at risk or wait for a new Sandoz order and waste time and money again. Conclusion: Pharmacy Zurich demonstrates an extremely disrespectful attitude towards customers, especially those who take psychotropic drugs and need to accurately match the order. Replacing a drug without consent is not a "concern", it is a breach of trust. I do not recommend this pharmacy to anyone who takes their treatment seriously. It is better to overpay and order in a place where the customer's choice is respected, than then risk your health due to unauthorized substitution.
