As it turned out, this area is fenced with breakwaters. It would seem that the idea is good, so that there are no waves. But taking this into account, there are serious problems with the seabed. It's all overgrown with some kind of algae. I went swimming first, and I thought, "Okay, it's like walking only through white areas, swimming through black ones with algae. But even in these "white" areas, something is wrong with the sand. It's unpleasant to step on it. Despite the fact that there is gorgeous Maldivian sand on the shore. Plus, there are always some boats in the water. To swim pleasantly, you need to walk to the middle of Chaweng. The KC Beach club helped me out. There are always free sun beds, the cost is 600 Baht per day + they give you water, a towel and one drink. 2. Okay, if the sea is not the fault of the hotel, then the beach area is already their direct shoal. It's a pity that when choosing a hotel, I didn't see any photos of the sunbed area on the beach. It's just a nightmare.… A sunbed on a sunbed. Without umbrellas. They're all dirty, nobody cleans them. You come in the morning and they're all covered in sand. Naturally, I didn't even lie down here, because it's terrible. 3. Well, in general, the hotel is not 5 stars. It's 3 stars with salmon for breakfast. Air conditioners make impossible noise. The hotel is full of people, which is understandable - the hotel is cheap. I stayed in three hotels of different price categories on the island to see the island from different angles. See different beaches. Well, the budget did not allow all three hotels to rent expensive ones. Unfortunately, I made a mistake in the cheap segment and chose this Amari. Recommendation: If you choose a hotel in Chaweng, look for hotels starting from The Library Hotel and further down the beach. Don't choose a hotel at the top of Chaweng! Ruin your vacation. There are Buri Rasa, Banana Fan, Anavar, and Samui Paradise hotels in this price range. They are a little more expensive than Amari, but they have a normal location and normal beach areas.

Amari koh Samui became our third hotel on our three-week trip to Koh Samui in June 2024 (2 adults + 2 children). This was the first time we chose this hotel in Koh Samui, because we had previously stayed in hotels of this chain many times, as well as counting on a good beach, based on enthusiastic reviews. The hotel is old, but well maintained, the rooms are in decent condition, we do not see any point in writing about minor flaws, since they do not affect the quality of your stay. But the beach was not impressed! There are strong tides here, everything is clearly visible in the photo, and even when the tide is high, the entrance to the sea is not super! Not to say that the entry into the sea is terrible, but it is not as cool as in the center of Chaweng or on Chaweng Noi, where you can swim right on the beach of the hotel. On the beach of the Amari koh Samui hotel, the bottom is muddy, there are a lot of algae, so no one really swims in the sea here, everyone "splashes" in the pools. There are no slides or a water park for children, only a couple of children's areas in the communal pools. To the center of Chaweng, where it will be comfortable and cool to swim, go to the right for fifteen to twenty minutes, and there either sit on your towels or in the beach club. However, going constantly in the heat to "normally" swim does not add pleasure, especially if you are with young children! Planes fly directly overhead from morning to evening, which is also not very pleasant! The mini club is weak, there are no classes and games, or any activities for children from the word "at all". There are a couple of "Playstation", a couple of "sluggish" educators and that's it! The gym is also so-so. To have breakfast or get to the beach, you need to cross the road. However, walking constantly across the road with active traffic, even taking into account the traffic controller, does not give pleasure. Of the advantages, a good breakfast and a location at the beginning of Chaweng, with a developed infrastructure around the hotel, the hotel territory is small, but well-groomed and picturesque, mostly friendly staff and generally good service, as well as the presence of many non-smoking areas and "cheerful" wi-fi... Waking up to the sound of birds singing is magical!!! Taking into account these disadvantages, as well as the price-quality ratio, the desire to return is unlikely to arise.
